It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.

I found it to be beautiful in a weird; indie punk kind of way. I thought it was well shot with strong supporting characters and a sense of inspiration through it all. Its definitely worth the watch. I especially enjoyed the character development that Emma's character goes through when she meets the kind of people she hadn't been exposed to in her liberal arts college. The slow progression from privileged and sheltered to open, fun, and less pompous than she was in the beginning felt genuine. The poetry that's read is slightly lacking, that is my only complaint. All in all, its beautiful

In 2013, it was a hard period for me when I was extremely feeling so much pressure on my shoulders regarding to college and all other future stuff. This movie totally reflected how a college/university candidate feels like in many senses. The movie is full of emotions, especially determination and I wish I watched it in 2013... it could have make me more relax and aware of the things that are related to future and career plans. At the end, only thing that I felt is a sweet connection and sense of empathy between me and all the characters inside the movie. Anyone who would like to remember the college years of themselves or their children(s) should watch it. It's a beautiful movie.

Well, the movie isn't all that bad, but c'mon give poor Emma a different role, in every single movie, she plays the same character, she is the troubled teenager, who has problems with her parents or has mental problems and later on she falls in love with a guy and in the end they happily stay together. In this movie, the falling in love thing was kind of secondary and the movie wasn't really about that until the very end.Amy (Emma Roberts), is a teenage girl, who is trying to become a successful poet, but her work hasn't been published yet, in any magazine, for that matter. In the movie, Amy was in 100% of the scenes, there was not a conversation between people without her interaction, the movie was only about her.The good thing is, the movie isn't actually all about Amy's work in a porn store, from the description of the movie, it seems like it is going to be another teenage movie filled with nasty sex jokes, but itš not the case.Amy's idol Rat Billings is not very friendly around her, Amy to him is just a crazy fan, who is too young and dumb to really understand life and what poetry is all about. The movie is kinda flat. Really, the ending is very basic and not interesting at all, Emma needs to expand her acting career and start playing some other characters, this is really getting old already.

I viewed Scott Coffey's "Adult World" as a representation of the problems facing college-age people in the 2010s. Aspiring poet Amy has bills to pay but can't pay them, so she has to take a job in an adult bookstore. Millions of college graduates have thousands of dollars in student loans, and many of them can't even find jobs in their field of study. The unpayable loans are likely to become the next bubble to burst. That's not the movie's main story. It focuses on Amy's relationship with a renowned poet. Even though that's the main story, I found it to be a good movie. It does give a feeling of the frustration among the millennials. I recommend the movie, and it looks to me as though Emma Roberts (Julia's niece) is turning out to be a good actress.
