The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

.Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

"47 Meters Down" tries to trace the horror genre on sharks adding some relatively new element but forgets a good dose of conviction that could have led to being at least recognizable, and instead ends, even if you already understand it from the first minutes, to prove too thin and can not even entertain as it could and should, given the concept quite interesting. It is based on a screenplay that, just in the attempt to seem detailed, take many things for granted and many are left out, bringing all the time inconsistencies and this inevitably leads to being annoyingly superficial. To all this are added the poor interpretations, not only by the extras but also by the two protagonists, for which there is not even a minimum of displeasure or compassion; and a strange and confusing montage that makes the action scenes too much confuse and not very gratifying, especially because they often last too little. Only the discrete special effects and good photography can make it a horror slightly bearable but what it transmits is certainly not fear or anxiety but only a lot, but really a lot, boredom. In short, a soporific, useless, flat and easily forgotten film as well as a real waste of time.

Most 'experienced divers' reviewing the movie here, who want to share their diving knowledge and tell us about the technical holes in the plot, are missing a huge detail.. the ending. It reveals BIG SPOILER that most of the movie is the hallucination of one of the girls while she is trapped at the bottom in the cage suffering from nitrogen narcosis, the other girl disappears quite quickly so all the ascents etc don't happen. So we can forget our dive tables and decompression times, and it becomes a little bit easier to suspend our disbelief for the tank swapping next to, for example Jaws, where a shark propels itself fully out of the water and sinks a large boatThere are actually a number of things the movie gets right.. the general feel of being underwater at depth with low visibility.. the lighting and camera angles are very suspenseful and really give the right sense of disorientation and claustrophobia. Sometimes the camera seems to take a shark eye view, approaching and then deciding not to attack, at other times large dark spaces are left behind the main character just waiting to be filled with a large tooth filled shark mouthWe don't see the shark clearly or often either , which is a good thing.. the best parts of Jaws were when we didn't see the shark much, and Shallow Water which i saw recently was filled with cgi shark and wasn't scary at all. In contrast I was really kept on the edge of my seat with this movie and i am terrified of sharks and dive so i know what the feeling is like from personal experience of being slightly uneasy underwaterMy only complaint is that there is a little too much chatterBetter than expected and recommended, nowhere near Jaws obviously but better than most other shark movies

This movie is filled with suspense and panic. It starts off with two sisters, named Kate and Lisa, going on a fun trip to Mexico. They both decide to go diving in a shark-infested ocean where they thought they were going to have fun. The cage, in which they was being held by ropes, snapped and fell to the bottom of the ocean water. Kate and Lisa faced a series of challenges and had to problem-solve quick. They went through problems such as not having enough oxygen, getting wounded, getting the spuds. Unfortunately, Kate ended up dying and Lisa got help from the coastguard. This was an overall good movie, very entertaining and was filled with panic.

Your typical shark movie that won't stray too far from what you are thinking when you read the premise. However, if you go into with that knowledge and expect some absurdity, I think you'll find that this movie is actually pretty decent.Unique ending solidified this movie from a 5 to a 7.
