Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.

The Same motif i sense every time i watch this movie is IDENDITY, like most films i enjoy watching from It's so boring hearing the same conun drum of intelligent wording of themes, story, production details, costumes, lighting, etc, etc. From film viewers, going out of control to sound intelligent when all i hear 99% of the time is carbon copy of reviews from critics, blah, blah, blah. I'm happy with hearing did you like it, YES or NO, i'd like to talk more but i'd rather watch something i enjoy then talk about something i enjoy and be in agreement why i liked it and why another person liked it. To assure i'm making a good choice or sounding intelligent or artistic, etc, etc..There are 2 different crowds in the film arena, those who watch and view films they have and have not seen from the time period 1900- 2017 these days and the mass majority who watches a ton of TV shows and lots of films from 2000-2017, very few people delve into the past or are beyond curious about films outside the country they reside or films outside heavily influenced, western world countries.Altman is not for everyone, from what i gathered with talking with both sides of film viewer's, most people think MASH is Altman's Greatest FIlm, in my opinion, MASH is my least favorite Altman Film, i like all his films but 3 Women & Images i'm drawn to especially.

The 3 women of the title are Millie, Pinky and Willie. Millie and Pinky work together at a health spa for the elderly and the infirm and share an apartment. Willie is an an artist and she never speaks. Millie speaks all the time but no-one listens to her, no-one that is except Pinky who idolizes her and would like to be her. Yes, this is Altman's "Persona" with a third woman thrown in for good measure and it's a darkly comic masterpiece.Altman says he based his screenplay on a dream he had and the film does have a dream-like hallucinatory quality. As Millie and Pinky, Shelley Duvall and Sissy Spacek are virtually never off the screen and they are superb. Duvall won the Best Actress award at Cannes and Spacek won the New York Film Critics Best Supporting Actress prize. The terrific and disquieting score is by Gerald Busby.

Robert Altman is one seriously unpredictable filmmaker. He can make light-hearted, comedy of the mainstream like Popeye and Dr. T and Women, but then out of left field, he gives you something like this. A masterful art film. His versatility is worshiped in the film industry. Watching this film, you can see his extraordinary talent. It's one the most carefully prepared and well edited thrillers I've ever seen. The story is very common to film, it's execution is what makes it so fresh and entertaining. The film drones with it's repetitious soundtrack. It cuts back and forth to symbolic images. The performances from Shelley Duvall and Sissy Spackek are abnormal, and so is the environment they live in. How it compares to his other works, I don't know. But, to those who are avid Art-house film-goers, or fans of the modern day Altman, Paul Thomas Anderson, cannot miss out on seeing this.

Pinky Rose (Sissy Spacek) is an awkward adolescent who starts work at a spa in the California desert. She becomes overly attached to fellow spa attendant, Millie (Shelley Duvall), when she becomes Millie's room-mate.Roger Ebert named this the best film of 1977, but despite the praise, for twenty-seven years, the film was unavailable on home video. Thank you, Criterion, for finding these lost gems and giving them the proper treatment they deserve! What we actually have are two women, both named Mildred (though neither goes by it). Yes, there is a third, but the relationship between Pinky and Millie is the core here. And it is odd. Not only are these two actresses very unconventional in appearance, but they are just so strange. While Robert Altman deserves a great deal of credit, the real stars of this production are Spacek and Duvall, who transformed this from a script into a film.
