The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

I loved this book and was looking forward to the mini-series, hoping they wouldn't fail like they did with Under the Dome. Once again they took a great book and completely changed the story for no reason. It is a good show, worth watching but be prepared to be disappointed if you loved the book.

A really wonderful series, I loved every minute of it. When I read the plot I was scared I would get confused, but it was just perfect. I wish it wasn't just a mini series

UGH! In my opinion the book is worthy of a 9. I realize that screen adaptations are difficult but this series is so sappy I feel like I am going to become ill. My top 10 King stories that transitioned to the screen well are:1. The Dead Zone (the movie) 8.25* 2. The Shining 7* 3. Dolores Clayborne 8.5* 4. Misery 8.5* 5. Salem's Lot 7* 6. Carrie 8.125* 7. Christine 8* 8. The body (Stand by Me) 8.75* 9. The Shawshank redemption (minus Rita Hayworth) 9* 10. The green mile 8*

So, I just finished watching this series. And, as with most of the series, I binge watched it. The plot was okay, but the thing that I liked most about this series is, that the ending and the plot was all very well threaded. The result being you don't encounter any plot holes which happens a lot with other time travel shows.Jumping right into the story. An English teacher goes back in time to save president JFK as the person who sends him (a war veteran) believe that everything will be better if JFK is saved. Major spoilers ahead about the time travel rules: He can only go back in time on a particular moment in 1960. And when he goes and comes back, whatever he do will be reflected in his time period. However there is a catch, if he goes back again, everything he has done in his previous visit will be reset. This one small rule is the key difference b/w this time travel series and others out there (which can't keep their plots straight). Also, because the event he wants to stop is in 3 years ahead of his jump. You will see, his one jump spread over the full series, instead of a lot jumps and tries. What this TV series is not - a cat and mouse chase, or a very thrilling series, with a lot of life and death situations. But a calculated and somewhat boring layout by our hero to save JFK. You will definitely think of a better way to do the things that he would be doing in the series, so you might get frustrated. But all in all, the acting, hard choices situation and an overall different way (than most series) of handling situations by our hero will keep you entertained.http://www.imdb.com/user/ur21352722/?ref_=nv_usr_prof_2
