Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

Have you seen it? No? There is likely a very good reason for that...it stinks.Like nearly ALL the endless remakes and reboots that have been plaguing movie goers for the past decade or so....all this is, is a heartless version of the original. It has no heart. It has no soul.It is a retelling of a film that we all love and cherish...and it adds nothing to the story. It improves nothing but the special effects--which held up very well over time--and in some cases belittles the fans of the original...particularly in the fact that they remade the movie at all, without adding anything clever to it.Like so many other remakes it is a hallow shell of the original.

When V started the series really grab my attention from the get go as it did with many viewers. It looked like ABC had found a worthy SCI/Fiction show. It had a interesting mix of cast members. Elizabeth Mitchell, Joel Gretsch, Morris Chestnut, Logan Huffman, Laura Vandervoort, Morena Baccarin, Scott Wolf, Christopher Shyer, Charles MesureThe plot of the series was really good and was enough to hold your attention and the first season was such a ground breaker that really you didn't think a network like ABC could pull something like that off. However Season 2 is when it all started to fall and fall hard. I mean you know the old saying "If it ain't broke don't fix it"? they went from having a promising series to letting it get too far and it just wasn't the way the series should have went.In my opinion it was fine the way it was. I'm just really felt let down from a series that such high hopes only to be disappointed with the final results

I liked original 'V' series so I had to watch this one. I was disappointed, very disappointed. They changed many things from the original idea plus they just copied the ideas from similar TV shows that were released earlier. I mean 'Dark Skies' (1997), 'Earth: Final Conflict' (1997-2002), 'The 4400' (2004-2007) and 'Invasion' (2005).The acting was also bad. Elizabeth Mitchell never impressed me much as an actress and this series still can't prove that she is a good actress. Other actors and actresses weren't good as well. Too bad, they ruined a great idea.Watch original 'V' series or at least TV shows I mentioned before instead of wasting your precious time with this one!!!

but still a disappointment.Okay, I remember the truly dreadful 1980's V, which fell victim to a lot of the same problems. You have this setup, and nowhere to go with it.The V's are lizards who have a scheme to do nasty things to humanity because, I guess they are nasty people. Okay, there was little actually eating humans in this, so that's something.HOnestly, they kept trying to put in twists were nearly everyone has a hidden agenda. You needed a scorecard to keep track of them all. They also felt the need to bring back Jane Badler from the 1980's series as Ana's mother, Diana. Thankfully, some time since the 1980's, Ms. Badler learned how to act. Unfortunately, they still didn't have anything interesting for her to do.In the words of Mr. Plinkett, I don't think I've rolled my eyes this many times since I had that Demonic Possession.
