Good concept, poorly executed.

Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

Joe uses hyperbole to an extreme. Was Jerry Rice the greatest receiver ever? He is in the discussion but their are receivers who change the nature of the position from eras that allowed Rice to be the receiver he was. Raymond Berry changed the position with timing routes. Bob Hayes created the need for speed. Rice put the changes to use.
