It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

The reason why Avatar: The Last Airbender was so great was because it took a fairly simple good vs evil conflict, and as the story progressed, it became more nuanced and morally gray by exploring the ambitions of the heroes and villains. The exact opposite holds true for The Legend Of Korra, where almost every Season starts off with the potential for a complex and nuanced story, yet ends up being black & white, good vs evil, and every seemingly sympathetic villain turns out to be a generic Big Bad that just used the Philosophy of the Day to hide their true intentions, with Season 2 being clearest example of this. The characters are all bland, with the possible exclusion of Korra's teacher, Tenzin. Team Avatar itself feels extremely disconnected and its members treat eachother less like best friends and more like awkward coworkers. The humor is cringey, the romance is horrific and the writing feels like Fan Fiction at times, with some ridiculous new additions to the Avatar Universe (Pokémon Spirits, Giant Demon Kites, Laser Titans and Giant Robots FFS) Overall, The Legend Of Korra is superficially entertaining, and what it has in visual appeal, it lacks in depth and emotion. It focuses more on trying to be edgier and darker than Avatar that it completely loses focus on crafting a good story and compelling characters, thus the supposedly "mature themes" fail to leave any impact.

I Really Loved the Original Avatar Aang Series ( I mean, who didn't?) and sincerely thought any reboot wouldn't match it's Class - Period. And Seeing The Reviews On this Korra Series, I felt It Just justified what I thought. Nothing could be as great as awesome as ATLA, even with this same directors. So For This Long, I Skipped Watching Korra because of this ratings ( Compared With Aangs 9.5, Korra currently has 8.6). That was very stupid. Never Believe Ratings.Maybe the high expectations or the loyalty to the original series made people consider this series not as great, though The 1st few episodes suggested it justified. it was completely different, and not lovely & was quite complicated. But as the Story goes on, maybe Season 3 & 4, Are doubtably the best ever Seasons in History of Cartoons. I'm not kidding. Last Episode of The 3rd Season, Wow! Remember the Very Last epiosde of ATLA? Sosen's comet part4? Well, You're missing the chance to see a better Finale, I'd Dare Say, Than that if you miss korra's season 3 last epi. Low Ratings MUST be from People Who Just watched 1st Season or the 2nd to the max... No Way Season 3 & 4 Deserved Ratings leeser than 9! So Do Yourself a favour And watch the whole 4 Seasons of Korra... You will see A worthy Successor for ATLA. P.S. Pardon my grammar. Love From Sri Lanka To The Whole Avatar Universe! Most Favourite Cartoon Series Ever! From Aang to Korra... And To All The AVATARs to Follow!

As someone who has watched the Avatar: The Last Airbender series more than a dozen time through, u was really intrigued when I first heard of this sequel/spin-off show. I'm fairly late to the Legend of Korra party but I just finished the series and I have a few points and reviews I want to make. 1. The show is definitely WAY different than ATLA. It's set 70 years after and the new world is more modern with technology, cars and gadgets and such. 2. The characters aren't as appealing as in the ATLA. yes, the characters are very likeable for most viewers but if you're a hard critic like me then it takes a lot to get you interested enough in the characters. 3. The enemy changes in every season/ episode and it's basiclly the entire Republic City that is the enemy. It makes Avatar Aang look bad for creating the Republic city in the first place. 4. Avatar Korra is a bit older than the characters in ATLA. I would say she's about 18-22. It never specificly gives her age. But she is a fun character. She's refreshing because she's not as wise and calm as Avatar Aang and it lets the viewers relate to her more for her sudden outbursts or wrong choices. She grows a lot with the show and it's fun watching her grow. 5. The show is in a faster pace than ATLA. Instead of everything occurring in just a few months the show spans out over a two year time frame ( I think ) . But it's nice to speed things up sometimes. 6. The possibly worst thing in the show is the love triangle they shove down your throat. As soon as you watch the show you will immediately ship Mako and Korra just because they are the type of people we think should be together ( like Aang and katara). But Mako has a girlfriend in the series and it's a headache seeing him go back and forth. Don't even get me started on port bolín. 7. There are reucurring characters from ATLA. Kind of. One of the main characters in Tenzin who is Aang and Kataras son and he has an airbending family with kids who are hilarious ( milo). Also toghs daughter Lin is a main character and she's fun. Also zukos grandson Iroh. And some others. 8. It still has the same amazing feeling that ATLA had. The elements are the same and they're just as impressing to watch especially with the battles in the show. Overall the show writers have done well on this show. Most Spin-offs are a flop but I must say this was pretty well written. So props to the writers. The show portrays the avatar in a different light in a less frantic environment than the first. But don't feel bad if you wish the ATLA characters would appear more in the new show. I noticed myself calling the characters Aang or sokka, lol. It's worth the watch if you can. At least watch the first season. It gives a lot of reassurance to the cliff hangers that were left in ATLA.

The sequel had so much potential, and I'm honestly disappointed by the writing. While the cast from The last airbender were more easy to connect to, Toph: The Strong one, Sokka: The funny one, Zuko: The edgy one, Katara: The understanding one, and Aang: The one who was struggling to live up to his expectations, and trying to not let everyone down. The Last air bender was light and calm and easy going for viewers, making it such a huge hit. Whereas Korra, the cast was made a little bit more darker. And I don't see much originality. Season 1 was just ripping off real situations. Amon resembled Hitler, non benders were the Germans, and benders were the Jewish folk. The anti-Jews hated the Jewish since they were often richer, having these skills in gold work and all. Then there was no build up in relationships. Relationships often seemed forced. The only exception was Bolin and Korra, you could see Bolin's slow interest in her. Where as Mako made no sort of hint that he was interested until he fought with Korra about being with his brother. Then Asami and Korra's relationship seemed forced since the show was such a flop compared to it's prequel. The writers probably just done it so that the LGBTQ would use it to promote themselves. I have nothing against them, but it seemed so forced, there was no build up, and there was these inter-relationships that got in the way. The korrasami relationship was just something to get more views and promotion and something for people to talk about, but it really sucked.
