... View MoreFantastic!
... View MoreFun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
... View MoreGreat movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
... View MoreIf you love Golden/old Top Gear you need to watch it. And if you what to watch a bunch of idiots doing stuff and acting like jack asses in cars you will find it.
... View MoreTwo walking heart attacks and a teenage boy dressed as a middle-aged man present a show remotely connected with cars. This show is best enjoyed in SD, even though it's offered in 4K as well. The blotchiness and the puffy red faces of the two presenters is difficult to watch in normal resolution and it may cause harm when viewed in terrific 4K, thus the show should be best classified as a horror.Clarkson and May seem to be in their 48th trimester, defying modern medicine and putting the show somewhat into the science fiction category. At times the show is funny, but those are fleeting moments in a sea of arrogance that only the best of british presenters can manage. Sadly everything that was good about the trio in the old days is gone, and only the bitterness and arrogance is left, fueling an entirely unnecessary and unoriginal show.
... View MoreAs much as I wish to enjoy The Grand Tour, I simply can't. I watched season one and got four episodes into the new season before I called it a day. The reality is that there are enjoyable moments. The filming is spectacular and the cars are superb, of course; but - call me reactionary - it doesn't feel natural like it did in Top Gear. They're presenters, not actors, which means that the blatantly scripted parts make me cringe hard - Richard's main response seems to be excessive smiling which is like watching an unpopular kid finally getting attention and not knowing what to do. They've all been on TV for years, what are they doing?! Thankfully they got rid of the terrible celebrity section from the first season, though it should have been cut out completely: it's out of place and is frankly boring. I have nothing against aging celebrities remaining on TV, unless they hold their respective show back. Unfortunately I do feel like once three-reckless-men are showing their age in unattractive ways: such as James' lack of compassion when Richard was temporarily disabled (this did make me uncomfortable as a relative of someone physically disabled) and the borderline misogynism when the replacement of 'The American' was introduced as "her".I have rated it a six because it deserves respect for the effort put into the filming etc. It really is stunning to watch. Unfortunately - I really mean that - it is the presenters who are holding me back from enjoying the show.
... View MoreIt must've been said before, but where is the humour in this? I used to laugh at them three laughing at each other and it did actually feel real and believable. Now it just feels forced and unnatural. The show is way too scripted. The whole first season has wasted a section with invited stars because of them "dying". What the hell is that about? How can you not love some of your favourite people to come on to the show and talk cars and generally fun/interesting things? Really glad this nonsense part of the show has been replaced with interviews for season 2.The show has gone over the top. As much as I hate to say it, they boys are losing it. Losing the magic that kept me attracted to the TV and waiting for every next episode. What's the point of all the money in the world if you can't make no use out of it? I am really hoping the show will pick up and we get to see some good 'ol banter.I do watch every episode but I've already had to skip some parts of the show as they were plain boring and useless in terms of learning/seeing anything new. P.s. I am probably entitled to consider myself a fanboy as I've watched every single episode and special of the original series since 2002.
