Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

I'd only came into this show in the mid-1990s when it was nearly ending. I later caught some random episodes as reruns. But it was my first time seeing Will Smith (before Independence Day and Men in Black) and it's one of my favorite James Avery (RIP) roles (who was the original Shredder from TMNT though I didn't know his name back then). But Smith and Avery had so much chemistry on the show, which was helped by Avery's TV wife and kids, especially Carlton, who would later host AFV. I'm not sure what happened to the others, but I hope they're doing well! It's funny, touching, sometimes emotional, sweet and good for those of you wanting a wholesome family sitcom. Let's see if we can find some reruns somewhere, okay?

like may series from the first years of "90 decade, it was source of fascination. because it represents the open door to a real and profound different world. eccentric, almost strange for a viewer behind the Iron Curtain, "The Fresh Prince of Bel - Air" remains one of the most provocative series. not just for the racial reason but for a form of freedom and humor who seems bizarre. not itself but in a context who escapes to the expectations. like many series from beginning of "1990 years, it has the precise status of legendary. but it has another virtue - the first meet with a star who , for today, remains always surprising - Will Smith.

I didn't used to watch this show as a kid. How I found this out was when I was in 8th grade and when we had nothing else to do, our teacher put this in one time and then I couldn't get enough of it. So, I tried to catch it on at night. Though, now they do not show it on Nick@nite anymore. I have to catch it on somewhere else. It was always funny. Will was always cracking a joke and fighting with his brother and everyone in the house and getting into trouble. It was always a good thing to watch.

The show is quite entertaining, but also has problems. Both Carlton (the middle child son) and the Butler are played kind of wooden and unreal. The butler could because I was comparing him with Niles the butler in "The nanny", which could be too high a standard. Will Smith gets increasingly annoying in the first three seasons, I mean the kid becomes more and more selfish and obnoxious. Don't get me wrong he is entertaining and fun to watch, but it is hard to like that kind of person. To think of it most characters Will Smith plays (in bad boy, independence day, men in black, I robot) are kind of the same, an obnoxious narcissist fall in love with himself. Maybe he is just playing himself, even the character's name is the same. From the fourth season he is starting to get serious about his life and looking more like a real person with real problems. The bright spots are the farther (Philip Banks, played by James Avery) who plays a from rags to riches black lawyer quite convincingly and gives this show a lot of credibility. And the youngest daughter (Ashley Banks) who is cute and quite lovable. Hilary (the oldest daughter), who is also a bit unreal but not as much as Carlton and the Butler, could be quite funny in some occasions.Overall the show is good pastime.
