Sure, the prize money is not in the hundreds and thousands of pounds, but still, the relatively simple format and the charm of host Bradley "Law and Order UK" Walsh make this show a success. The Beast and The Governess are also in the Australian Chase, and The Beast is in the US version.I have no problem with a contestant going low, as it helps to have as many people as possible in the final chase which can be exciting and suspenseful and then some. One of the most spectacular episodes was when the sole contestant managed to beat a chaser to win 60,000 pounds!!!!!!!

I really enjoy watching this show on an afternoon, i like the host and the "chasers", i think it really is a good game show, i don't usually like them but this one is great. Interesting and just overall fun to watch. The big final chase at the end is a good part of the show, makes it more fun to watch, i think sometimes the money offers are a bit too low... SOMETIMES, to say the contestant did so well on the cash builder.I look forward to seeing more of the chase.Deserves a 7 / 10.

I was for a while not really interested in this teatime kind of scheduled game show, but I saw more and more of the final stage of the programme that I decided to give the whole thing a chance, and now I am hooked. Hosted by Bradley Walsh, this sees four contestants (or celebrities) playing to win a shared jackpot. Each player steps up to the podium and answers as many questions correctly as possible, with each answer gaining £1,000. They then face The Chaser, a quiz genius with great knowledge for most general knowledge, and the Chasers are Mark Labbett aka 'The Beast' and 'Beastie Boy', Shaun Wallace aka 'The Dark Destroyer' and 'The Barrister', Anne Hegerty aka 'The Governess' and 'Frosty Knickers' and Paul Sinha aka 'The Sinnerman' and 'The Sinner Winner'. The Chaser will offer them a smaller cash reward to get closer to home, and a larger cash reward taking them further from home, and when they decide which to go for they have four, five or six steps to take, answering questions with three options, to get home and bank the money. If the player chooses a right answer they move a step, as does The Chaser, and if one of the two gets a question wrong they stay where they are, if the player reaches home the money is safe and if The Chaser catches them they lose the money and are out of the game and won't go forward to The Final Chase. The players left in the game, however many that is, have their jackpot of whatever money that has been banked, and The Final Chase sees them answer as many questions in the two minute time limit as possible to gain steps that The Chaser has to take to catch them, an automatic amount of steps is for how many players remain. The Chaser gets the same amount of time to take their steps, but if he/she gets a question wrong the team has a chance to push them back one step if they get the answer right, so if The Chaser catches the team they lose all the money and go home with nothing, and if they don't they win ans split the jackpot winnings. This is a good fun game show to test your general knowledge as you can play along answering the questions you may know the answers to, and you can enjoy the amusing mean put-downs by The Chasers, and Walsh is a good choice as the host, most watchable light entertainment. Very good!

The Chase is one of those classic style of game shows. It doesn't rely on lots of rules and flashing lights in order to gain your attention as a viewer and instead is more about the contestants and the cheeky chappie persona of the host Bradley Walsh as they take on the Chaser. The Chasers themselves make the game what it is and everyone has their favourite in a sort of love to hate way. From the smug and deadpan wit of Mark to the smooth customer in Shaun every chaser battles each contestant with ease as they try to bring their money back home.ITV have struck gold with this simple format and loyal audience following so here's hoping it begins to get the attention that it deserves.
