It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.

The idea of giving the seven dwarfs a TV show may sound like a bad idea, but that's not the case here as The 7D proves to be one of the best Disney shows. In any incarnation, the dwarfs all have distinguishable personalities, so they can play off each other pretty well. Look at episodes like "Grandpa Grumpy And The Ogre". It helps to have professional voice actors like Bill Farmer and Maurice LaMarche. The humor in this show is reminiscent of shows like Animaniacs and Tiny Toons. It helps to have many of the same writers of both shows write for this one, like Tom Ruegger and Sherri Stoner. Of course, it still has a nice Disney feel to it thanks to people like Tom Warburton, Noah Z. Jones, Leigh Allyn Baker, Kelly Osbourne, and more. I don't really have a problem with this show. It's a ton of fun and when the show teaches morals, it does it well.Grade: 10/10 (A+)

I wanted to like "The 7D." I really did. However, I couldn't make it through the first episode. And that's really a shame, given the concept wasn't bad.Basically, "The 7D" is a modern take on the classic characters from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." The queen (voiced by Good Luck Charlie's Leigh-Allyn Baker) calls them whenever her kingdom is in trouble. The whole premise sounds really cute on paper. In addition, the rest of the cast reads like the 90s animation hall of fame: Maurice Lamarche (The Brain from Animaniacs), Bill Farmer (Goofy), Dee Bradley Baker (from various cartoons), Jess Harnell (Wakko Warner), and Billy West (Philip Fry, Futurama). The 7D was even written by Paul Ruegger, director and writer for Tiny Toons or Animaniacs.Even though it didn't get rave reviews from the IMDb community, I thought with this much talent, "The 7D" couldn't be that bad. Sadly, I was mistaken. "The 7D" flops right from the start. The theme song is cheesy and annoying and the villains are bland. What's worse, the writing is incredibly flat. For example. a major plot point of the opening episode centers on the two villains taking over the queen's kingdom. They make "kissing noises" on her throne (no kissing, as this a G-rated show. You wonder why they even suggested it.). Anyway, later when the queen calls the dwarfs in, she tells them about the "kissing noises." The dwarfs repeatedly ask "kissing noises?" to which the queen replies "I know, right?". This happens literally ten times in the episode. That's simply lazy.To make matters even worse, the characters are simply ugly to look at.All in all, "The 7D" is a disappointing program. It's shocking something like this airs on the same channel as the brilliant "Gravity Falls." I would normally give a show of this quality a three, but with the talent involved, it has to be a one. Do yourself a favor and skip "The 7D." Its cast may get it compared to Animaniacs, but the two shows are nothing alike. Animaniacs is often quite funny, while The 7D never is.

The main gripe about The 7D that I keep seeing is that the dwarfs aren't the ones from the Walt Disney classic. Now, I have no idea how this show was advertised before it premiered and if it was touted as tying in to the movie, but I don't think it's supposed to. To me, it seems that the idea of the dwarfs was loosely inspired by the film and all other concepts are original. The plots of the show are simple and rather predictable. I can see how some would have a problem with that, but even hit shows like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic have stories you can see the ending to from a mile away. It personally doesn't bother me because I find character interaction to be more vital than plot, but I can understand that not everyone shares this priority with me.What initially drew me in to the show was the cast and crew. Take a look at the credits and you'll see a lot of the folks behind Animaniacs and Tiny Toons are involved in The 7D. This show doesn't share the brand of humor the aforementioned ones do, but then again this show is supposedly intended for preschoolers. In that regard, it is very well written and doesn't treat its audience like idiots. The voice cast is outstanding and includes Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Scott Menville, Jess Harnell, and other fantastic talents. They bring a lot of energy and character into their roles. The voices all fit the characters well. They don't sound anything like they did in the movie, but as I've said I don't think they're intended to be the exact same characters. One thing I haven't seen much mention of is the music in the show. In my opinion, it's one of the best parts. All the songs are catchy and can easily get stuck in your head. The background music is also very upbeat and fun to listen to.I don't understand all the hate this show seems to be getting. I really don't. I've seen every episode so far and I think it's pretty good. It's not perfect, but it's still cute and entertaining. Despite the negative reviews, I urge you to at least give the show a try. Just please judge the show for what it is and not what others may think it should have been.

By the first time at see it i know it ,it was going to be awful out side of the Horrible Animation it was boring and really annoying. Why ?1.The characters the are not the same as the movie, all the seven dwarfs are not enjoyable and likable if in they have very good voice actors,i know the characters i know the personality's but the directors and writers has the mind's to changed everything to make them boring ,but that's is not the worst part the worst part is there's no Snow White & no Prince{has anyone know he name?}(Queen Snow White and the King) but we have Queen Delightful who is she, where it come from and what a new character doing in at story we all know about and it has nothing to do with the story?I don't know and don't care about her is annoying and also we have Grim and Hildy they have nothing to story and the only reason are there is they are the bad guy nothing else.(as for the rest of character they boring)Doc - is not good anymore thank to the writers to make him awfulDopey - it was fine with out a voice and noise (why they give him whistle noise WHY?)Grumpy - is the same as before but it has some really unfunny moment's Sneezy,Bashful,Happy and Sleepy - not to most about them2.The plot is like watching Dora the explore 3.The story is :The series takes place in the whimsical world of Jollywood, where Queen Delightful relies on the 7D - Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Dopey, Grumpy and Doc - to keep the kingdom in order. Standing in their way are two laughably evil villains, Grim and Hildy Gloom, who plot to take over the kingdom by stealing the magical jewels in the 7D's mine. With seven very distinct personalities, the 7D always manage to save the day and send Grim and Hildy running back to their evil lair to try another day.Man is that LAME!4.Directors and writers the only reason they make this is for money and they believe the kid's they can watch everything.Well i know Disney Company they need new idea's to make new show and cartoon's and i don't blame them is still the Company who give as great childhood movie, memories and some great show's AND is still their job no other Company give as so great&wonderful memories from a childhood as Disney , but as for the Directors and writers the only thing had in mind is money.(THE DIRECTORS AND THE WRITERS MUST BLAME NOT Disney COMPANY)I watch the first 2 episode of the show is as boring as it sound 1 episode is Long, Long Winter can you really tried to think what is about ? 2 episode is Itsy Bitsy Spider Fighters get more stupider then that.Overall Don't watch it is awful and don't let your kids, sisters, brothers or your friends watch it.Animation F- Story D Plot F Characters F- Writing F-The Verdict 2/10 F 13/100
