To me, this movie is perfection.

If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

this film was written by Simon Moore and produced by Robert Halmi. The movie starts out in modern-day New York, following a girl named Virginia and her father, Anthony. Then in a different realm where Cinderella, Snow White, and Little Red Ridding Hood were once rulers of the land. Prince Wendell, the grandson of Snow White Gets turned into a golden retriever by his step mother, the evil queen. When the evil queen sends trolls after him to kill him, he finds a way to escape by running through a magic mirror. This is when he runs in to Virginia and their journey begins. One of my favorite characters is Wolf. I like him because he is relatable. because people judge him by his appearance because he has a tail and then they run away. And assume that he is always to blame. This is relatable because it is very easy to del like an outcast and that everything is your fault some times. This film is very unique because it gives a good twist on classic fairy tales. one of my favorite clips from the movie is when Virginia is try to win a competition by singing we will rock you in a lame remix( have to watch the movie to find out what that means). this movie was very emotional movie to me because you go on an emotional roller coaster , sometimes your happy , sad and laughing.

The 10th Kingdom is really an atrocious movie. I know that normally TV movies like this have lower standards and I was prepared for that. I was prepared for sub-par acting and bad special effects. But this movie is available. The acting by minor actors was unbelievable bad. But the surprising thing was actors like Dianne Wiest giving a really bad performance. I have seen a lot of movies in which she has a role, but she has never given a bad performance before.I don't know how that happens. How can good actors give such bad performances. Was the shooting rushed through? Were they not paid enough? Or did they instinctively knew that they can't save such a bad movie and decide to their worst. I sincerely don't know.I couldn't get through the whole thing. It is 7 hours long ! And frankly I was tired before the first hour was up. The story seemed very clichéd. Just a pale imitation of stuff that you had already watched elsewhere. I recommend that you avoid it at all costs.I really can't understand the good reviews. Do people have such low standards.

This mini series is actually how I want fantasy and fairy tale movies to be done. It is very long but when you have a good story and really cool characters that doesn't bother me. I rather watch this long and great adventure than watching a TV show that never ends and where each episode is a short story on its own. The main characters Virginia and her dad end up in this fairy tale world which was so fantastic that I actually wished I was there too. Despite that it is long it never gets boring. It is like a really good book, with well worked out characters which emotions are depicted perfectly. It does has fairy tale characters everyone knows such as Snow White and Cinderella, fairy tale creatures such as dwarfs, trolls and references to typical objects and scenes from famous fairy tales such as poison apple, mirror on the wall, guess my name riddle, incredible hair growth etc. The use of all these elements don't feel forced and blend together well making for a fantastic movie. Although it might not be perfect I can see no fault in it and give it the maximum score. It has fantasy, magic, humor, drama, romance. The only negative thing is that some parts might not be suitable for young children as there is mild violence in it a few times.

I adore this series. It's an original adaptation of the classic Grimm fairy tales, put in a modern, more dark perspective, and giving it a certain realistic depth by placing two no-nonsense New York citizens in a world full of magic. The series is not flawless, as sometimes the humor seems a bit cheesy, but the overall presentation is as enchanting as the events that occur. I just loved the role by John Larroquette, who plays an ex-successful businessman turned janitor, and has the same humor through subtle self-mockery as the likes of Bill Murray and Kevin Spacey. Scott Cohen shines as an over-the-top half-wolf, whose inner battle between two personalities is displayed in a comical yet convincing way. The cast also includes some famous faces such as Rutger Hauer and Robert Hardy, and is all in all convincing, mostly with characters that are easy to relate to. A lot of the series power is in the multitude of on-location filmed sites through which the journey takes the main characters. One episode contains some simply idyllic footage, with the gorgeous Austrian mountains backed by a beautiful score of classical music. The series must be watched with an open mind however, expect no revolutionary filming techniques or award-winning performances, but be prepared for an extremely enjoying, consistent series that deserves a second watch, and is as magical as its subject matter.
