Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.
... View MoreFantastic!
... View MoreIt was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
... View MoreIn other words, this film is a surreal ride.
... View MoreTo the producers of this show: THERE IS ONLY ONE CAPTAIN KIRK (William Shatner). We don't want to see some ugly effeminate dude with a high-pitched voice trying to stand in for the great Bill Shatner. THERE IS ONLY ONE MR. SPOCK (Leonard Nimoy). We don't want to see some guy with a goofy haircut and the wrong complexion who looks like he's 11-years old doing a bad job of trying to be Spock.Same notation for all the other characters. And therein lies the problem: the producers should have used all new characters (example: Captain Smith, Science Officer Jones, etc.), and they should be on a different ship (example: U.S.S. Independence). The idea to 'continue' the series with a Starfleet ship, the same sets, the same ship sounds, the same uniforms (especially the chicks in those mini-skirts), this was an exciting idea. But to get other actors to play such beloved characters from the original series was a death sentence for the show.An example of my theory is the new character of Elise McKenna (Michele Specht). She is believable and beautiful. This was a promising show idea, but when the producers came to the question of either making the crew the same characters from the original series - or - making the crew a different one, they made the wrong choice.Opportunity missed. Too bad.
... View MoreI simply could not believe that someone had finally gotten it right. I've waded thru a lot only to emerge after decades of wannabe shows and movies landing on this incredible extension of what was truly original. My deepest thanks.
... View MoreEverything feels rights, and honestly few minutes in and most would tend to forget it's not the same cast / show! Do you usually need prescription glasses to watch TV? Take them off if you were a fan of the original because apart from the faces, there's no telling this apart!Love it!
... View MoreI spotted on this serial only couple months ago, and watched so far only 2 episodes. Indeed, they made it well - it is probably only true follower of (original) TOS. And as I see, Star Trek is probably original serial with most of followers - there is most of serials starting with "Star Trek" . I have strong feeling that it is low on budget, although it is not much visible on screen, but fact that there are only few episodes per year may be indicator. Acting may be not on high level, and actors are really unknown, again, probably because low budget. But it is OK. What matters is story. And it is for sure on level of original series. At moment we have 2 "Star Trek" serials under work and (premiere) airing: this and practically the complete opposite: ... Discovery . While Discovery is high(er) budget, with shiny CGI, lot of action, shooting, it is just not Star Trek. They changed a lot, in not good direction. I stopped to watch it because it is just so shallow. Star Trek Continues goes so far in recreation of original that they even use outdated 4:3 screen format. Effects are not 100% same, but very close to those from some 50 years ago. I will keep watching this. Rating: 8 .
