    Highly Overrated But Still Good

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

THIS SHOW IS AMAZING. I did not want it to end. Super good but the last episode was crap because since there was only one season you do not know what happens next. This is a note to the writers, there has to be more seasons you can not just leave it like that.

In 2014, an alien spaceship crash lands on earth in the small town of Edendale. The initial contact goes badly as many Atrians are killed. Young Roman escapes and finds shelter in Emery's backyard shed. Roman is shot and recaptured. Ten years later, seven teen Atrians are integrated into the local high school. There is an immediate backlash. Emery Whitehill (Aimee Teegarden) realizes that Roman (Matt Lanter) is one of the seven. Her friend Julia Yeung (Malese Jow) is dying from cancer. Roman uses a secret alien plant to cure her. The Atrians are being harassed by a human group called Red Hawks. Roman's peace-loving father and Atrian leader is accidentally shot to death by Emery's security chief father. The Trags are extremist Atrians bent on destroying the human race. It's a teen high school melodrama that is always on the edge of overloading the show with too much sci-fi. The fact that it got canceled so quickly probably saved it from disintegrating from too many convoluted story points. The young cast is fine and they grew on me. The show really throws a lot into the story. I would have like for the show to settle down a bit more.

Nicely done sci-fi series, I would love to see a second season as the last episode let me wanting more. I really enjoyed the human alien dynamic interaction and how much this could possibly mirror our world we live in today. You can actually feel the tension between certain characters and the love and attraction. Love scenes were tastefully done and I personally would like to know what might happen next. Heck of a cliffhanger. Come on let's see some more episodes and series. This promises to be a big item on my watch list from this day on, to the powers that be you know you have a small goldmine wrapped up in this show so come on and show us more.

In the pilot episode, the kids in school got the Pledge of Allegiance wrong, and it was a stupid mistake. They said "one nation, with liberty...." Notice what's missing? At first, I thought it was intentional, not just a stupid mistake by foreign writers or something, and I almost shut it off at that point. But then I realized the writers probably just don't know the Pledge (which would mean they never went to school in America). I'll keep watching, but I've docked it a lot of points for that major blunder in my rating.Seriously...didn't we all say the Pledge when we were in school? Even with cancer-related issues with my memory, I *STILL* remember that it's "one nation, *under God*, with liberty and justice for all.": To forget to include that is just plain stupid.
