Surprisingly incoherent and boring
... View Moreit is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.
... View MoreThe storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
... View MoreYes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.
... View MoreWhat an awesome show for all ages. My teen aged daughter and I laugh out loud through every episode. Love it!What a courageous role for Anne Heche. And she performs it expertly. This is a show that dares to bring God into the storyline, but with a contemporary—yet respectful—approach. The humour is smart. The lead character is far from perfect; we can relate to her pledge to become a better person. We may not have the direct line to God like she does, but we share the inner voice guiding us and challenging us to be 'good'. It is so refreshing to find a show genuinely funny, well written, and original. With guest stars like Betty White, how can it go wrong. This show deserves a chance to find its audience.
... View MoreI was skeptical before I watched the first episode. Didn't want to be missioned. But I really liked every one of the way too few episodes.Luckuly it wasn't morally waggling with some profound messages. Instead it showed a really charming and quite amusing way to handle the crazy idea called god.It is really sad the show got canceled. Although it's surprising there were after all 7 Episodes of it, before this heresy was banned from TV. Guess, you can't make a crazy person laugh about the voices in it's head.God damned hypocrites! May they all slowly die of Syphilis.
... View MoreFirst of all, I have to say I've never been a fan of Anne Heche.. but ya know what... I just love her in this. Her comedic timing in this is amazing. Story lines are hilarious, touching and all around good fun. Anne is adorable in this show. The whole concept is as close to 'novel' that Hollywood puts out as one can hope for. It's 'Touched by an Angel', 'Saving Grace' wrapped up in a ticklish taco (I know, really bad metaphor, but I'm kind of hungry right now). Few shows make me laugh out loud, and I love to laugh out loud.Don't deprive yourself of watching this program, 'swear to God' you won't regret it.
... View MoreI've watched 3 episodes and am a fan. I was skeptical at first but this is a well written, smart, funny show. It reminds me very much of Scrubs from a few years back. The characters are very representative of our post-modern, secular culture. Woven through the irreverent dialog are some very good moral, ethical messages. Anne Heche as the main character Beth who has found God following a traumatic event is comically representative of the modern new believer. Theologically and doctrinally naive she is unabashed in her belief unlike the only other professed believer in the cast who largely sublimates her beliefs in the face of her skeptical peers unbelief. Save Me is a bold entry in the sitcom landscape that has seemed to venerate themes that in prior years would have been considered socially unacceptable. ironically, talking about God in media has become counter cultural. save Me is making it cool again. Give it a shot. You just might be pleasantly surprised.
