The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

I have not seen someone this funny (especially a young adult) in a very long time. I tuned in less than a month ago to see what Jennette McCurdy was up to and Ariana Grande's character totally shocked me. I had no idea what she was doing. At first I thought she was mentally-challenged then I read her say that she was playing dumb. She would stare into space and hesitate and wave her arms in the air and talk with an inflection that reminded me so much of Emo Phillips, the comedian (I could never understand him and I could not tolerate his inflection) or even Pee-Wee Herman to an extent. Ariana is so unique for her age and she's quick and an extremely good actor and comic. She is going to be huge at whatever she puts her mind to. (She is a better actor than any of the "Friends" actors were during their first two seasons.) I would give this series a "10" but I think the writing and themes can be poor. Producer Dan Schneider has a pretty warped sense of humor. Some of the stories and lines give bad examples to kids, imo: Sam and Cat are very materialistic, Sam's character basically hates people (eg. that part shocked me), and some of the other older characters seem very shallow. Plus, these characters do not need to be making butt jokes. (It's totally inappropriate for young kids.) But some of the stories, lines and sight gags are extremely funny! The acting and laughs sold me after the 3rd episode that I watched. This series had "success" written all over it due to Jennette and Ariana. (I would have replaced the writers if the series went on to a second season. I'm an adult male and I'll watch some of these adolescent shows for a change of pace just to see what they're up to. Lord knows Hollywood has been striking out with adult TV sitcoms and reality shows.) I can't believe that they couldn't bring Jennette and Ariana back together for more Sam and Cat!

I had not been on Nickelodeon in about 3 years. So one day, I decided to sneak a peek and maybe get a bit of nostalgia out of it. It was 3:00, so a show was bound to be just starting. Upon viewing the last commercial, I had been greeted by the introduction of "Sam & Cat" (An apparent spin-off revolving around two comic-relief characters from two popular shows created by the wannabe John Hughes himself, Dan Schneider.) It was when I had begun noticing the sexual innuendo and selfie-based transitions that I had known exactly who the writers are aiming this show at; to which I felt insulted. Let's say that Mr. Schneider cooks us, the viewers, a meal. It's delicious! The pinch of salt he added really brought out the flavor of the other ingredients! He then makes us yet another meal. Wow! That chili powder worked amazingly with the other ingredients, as well! Mr. Schneider then thinks to himself: "Hmmm... Since they loved the salt and chili powder from my first two meals, they're going to love this!" He then dumps a half pound of salt, and a half pound of chili powder onto a plate and confidently hands it to us. This new dish is Sam & Cat. Sam Pucket and Cat Valentine are two characters who are only useful when they have other, more cohesive, and well-spoken characters to work from! They cannot occupy an entire show on their own. One can understand this show's growing popularity, but unless you are one to enjoy the overpowering flavors of Sam & Cat as characters, I recommend staying far away from this show.

Another low-brow, immature offering from the creators at Nickelodeon. The show generates a few laughs but continues to rely on slapstick comedy a little too much. I get it, it is a show for younger children but why must it be so brainless. The show is watch worthy but the style is nothing new and a little weak. Sam Puckett bores me and although Cat Valentine is adorable there is only so much of her you can take.Nickelodeon pick up your game. Putting two supporting actors together does not equal a star. Also a weird child grifter and a man who behaves like Forrest Gump does not make a supporting cast.

Dan Schneider needs to retire because this show is a desperate attempt to save Nickelodoen's rating woes after the departure of Victorious and iCarly. It's not funny, it's not enjoyable, and the entire premise makes no sense whatsoever. The Cat character is annoying, beyond idiotic and her voice makes me want to slit my wrists. I never saw the appeal in this character. She sucks. Sam character would never agree to do babysitting kids nor hangout with someone AS irritating as Cat. She bullies Freddy but not this golly idiot. WTF.Why the hell does this show need two stupid characters. Goomer is a pointless character. He's also an idiot and why is this grown man hanging around two 17 year old girls and a 12 year old boy anyway (CREEPY). Same thing with the Dice character. He is annoying and boring. His character used to sell stuff in those first episodes, but now he is the Freddy and Robbie of the show. The butt monkey that gets abused. And him too why is this 12 year old boy hanging around with 17 year old girls.I can't believe people are saying this is the only good show on Nickelodeon right now or it's the saving grace for Nickedlodeon. Are you sh*tting me. The Thundermans and Haunted Hathaways are top notch quality and funny sitcoms that are way better this piece of sh*t of a show. If you ask me they shouldn't even renew this show for a season 2. The only people who defend or "love" this show are Dan Schneiders group of lackeys/fan who kiss his ass and are biased to only his work of shows because he's so damn perfect. Screw this garbage show.
