It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

Seriously! I was disappointed when I found out this show was being cancelled. It was an amazing show. It seems like when show like this are being shown on national TV it gets dumped right away. Shows like this makes us think of after life. Christians are being put down because they have FAITH. This is merely what this show is about having FAITH. It's too bad it got cancelled. In my house we were all glued once it came on. We were all great fans. Even my old aged mom was up till this show is over. Missed this show. Wished they put it back on again.

Based on the first season, I would have given it nine stars, but after seeing the (frustrating) direction the writers took during the second season, I dropped it to one! The first season was intriguing. You had sympathy for the characters and wanted answers. However, the second season became more of a soap opera and revealed virtually nothing. I wanted the episodes to head in the direction of why the dead returned but was greatly disappointed instead. After several episodes I lost interest. After it was cancelled, a fan wrote to the local TV critic inquiring about the ending, how the writers would have explained the dead returning. Well, it turns out that they never planned to reveal this, for they had no explanation!! Now, if you base an entire series on an incredible premise, you damn well better have an explanation! Not doing so is not only a disservice to the fans but is poor writing. That is THE reason for a one star rating.

Why is everyone comparing this to some series on European television that is similar to this but not the same? Other than that, the series is OK. It is implausible at times. The little boy should be far more inquisitive about the new tech that surrounds him. A lot has changed in 30 years. When watching it, it is important to note that from the time Jacob comes back to the time the Army comes in is only 1 week. Months haven't passed by and although it is a jump in the imagination realm, it's possible that everyone in town didn't automatically start sending Facebook Spam. The acting is acceptable, the cinematography is OK. It's a fun show. It's no worse than a lot of stuff on TV these days and a lot better than most of the other fantasy/sci fi on now.

This is a very intriguing show; the plot is advanced just enough each episode to keep you interested while maintaining the mystery. That is not an easy balance to maintain. Frances Fisher and Kurtwood Smith are superb as the two parents who lost their son and have now regained him again. There are a couple of false notes; I would expect people to have a much stronger reaction to the return of not one but 3 dead people. Frankly, the whole town should be going berserk. How does this happen without throngs of media and onlookers descending on the town? Also, if Agent Bellamy is ICE, why is he allowed to stay around the town for an apparent indefinite period of town? These are minor distractions from an otherwise excellent show.
