So much average

... View MoreI wasn't sure what to expect with this one since I stayed away from reading the reviews. I thought I was in for a tale of mystery and some good old detective work with a twist. Well, there was a twist, and a turn, and another twist and then some meandering into some weirdness that wanted to have me make a wee bit of sense out of it all. But alas, six episodes revealed that it disappointed me and I was rooting for poor Hal (at least) instead of the spoiled heroine, Matilda. Sometimes a movie, or in this case, a TV series is too clever for its own good.
... View MoreThe first two episodes were good, and they really built you up for a good story. But I've just finished the series and I'm questioning what the hell any of it was about. SO many unanswered questions, but to be honest, I don't care enough to know the answers if it means I have to sit through another 6 hours of bad suspense music and ugly crying. Not worth it.
... View MoreAmbiguity reigns in this English six part TV series and if you can live with ambiguity, then add this series to your watch list. If you cannot tolerate ambiguity, then avoid this at all costs!I binged this series and found the q ting OK but the cinematography and the foreboding generated by the exterior shots clearly st ruck me. Great images of clouds roiling over the mountains and deep forests where anything could be set a great mood for the shows.I don't really recognize I've the talent, but they performed OK and the lead-Matilda-tends to play scared or obsessed with nothing in between.I suggest in my title you watch "Rosemary's Baby" first because it may prepare you for what you are experiencing here. So get your popcorn and settle in for two nights of viewing (one night for "Rosemary's") and then let me know your answers to my lots and lots of questions!
... View MoreThis series has the most beautiful cinematography of the Welsh countryside and the perfect blend of modern and old-world charm. I am up to episode 5 and was hocked after the first 30 minutes. Intriguing storyline which is set at the right pace and I love the supernatural undertones that are well done. Fabulous acting by all cast members particularly Matilda and Rosie.
