It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.

Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

Someone obviously watched a lot of "curb your enthusiasm"....problem is, when you are not a comedic genius & try to give your show some "street cred" with live cutaways to your stand up...which is as observational and funny as a new comic anywhere near you... He was cute in Dr Dredd I guess... But when there is a "stalker..and it is about as believable as a stalker for a dancer in a Nickel Back video. .This is comedy garbage..so, my opinion only..clumsy nonsense.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this series. "Rob" was a bit of a letdown, but I generally enjoy Mr. Schneider's work. I feel with the artistic freedom Mr. Schneider enjoys with this show, he has created a fine piece of entertainment that truly highlights some of the issues facing Hollywood celebrities (and sometimes we lesser beings;) Celebrity privilege, spousal jealousy, family leeches, balancing work and family; Real Rob examines these and other issues with an outrageous comedic eye that has my wife and I laughing out loud every episode.Mr. Schneider and Mr. Lissow are believable and genuine. Every episode I wonder what new disaster they are going to get into. Great acting, excellent writing.I felt the first couple episodes were somewhat weak. Maybe it was the inevitability of the audience getting to know the characters, but I felt something was missing that was picked up in later episodes. So if you find yourself wanting to turn off the pilot halfway through, try to give it a few more episodes before deciding. Maybe the parodies in the characters were overdone and the mechanics of the relationships not obvious enough in the pilot. When I first watched it, I found myself wondering again and again why Rob didn't just fire Jamie and get a real assistant. The answer is obvious by ~episode 3, but I did suffer that initial confusion.I highly recommend Real Rob to anyone looking for a light comedy that underscores some real issues Hollywood celebrities face. I look forward to another season, and hopefully many more.

I came to the show having liked Rob from back in his SNL days and some of his previous movies from the 90's. Wasn't sure what to expect. Well...the pilot was funny but I still felt kind of 'hmmm' not sure if it was really going to be good. I gave it a few more episodes and I was HOOKED. I hardly EVER laugh at most comedy today...it's mostly gross-out humor, very trashy sexual jokes. While Real Rob has SOME racy elements, overall the show is just plain funny. Rob's beautiful real-life wife and daughter give the show an element of reality that really adds to the authenticity. All of the characters are funny...and likable. The show pokes fun at the dark side of Hollywood...traffic...insincere 'Industry' types...lazy workers at the health food store, etc. Even a few great cameos including George Lopez. The show is great...EAGERLY awaiting Season 2!

I'm a fan of some of his known works, but this show didn't make me laugh even once. A lot of the jokes were just about how much of a prick Rob acted towards people, and it just didn't sit right with me. Like the scene at the book signing in the first ep, how he rushes away because "the disabled people arrived" because he couldn't be helped to wait for them. And that its supposed to be a joke and laughed at just kind of disgusted me instead. Its a strange concept for a show that could have some promise, but just because of how the jokes are executed and that the character you're supposed to relate to is rich and snobby just makes me feel wrong when watching it.I definitely won't be watching more of it.
