Highly Overrated But Still Good
... View MoreIt is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,

I just wanted to add another in case anyone looking to make more streaming content decides to read this and wants to invest in a great show that would benefit from an expanded storyline. The first season does a fantastic job laying the ground work for a killer crime drama about America in the late-Vietnam War era. For anyone looking for something to watch, even though there is only one season, it's done well with cinematic quality. The storyline is concluded in a wholistic way that is satisfying so you won't feel like you've wasted 8 hours on a cliffhanger that's never resolved.
... View MoreJust heard Quarry has been cancelled and it's a real shame as it was a magnificent show. It's first and only season is a masterclass in storytelling and acting, in a wonderful setting filled with memorable characters. Goodness knows why it wasn't more successful than it should have been, maybe it got buried beneath the current golden age of TV climate, where there are so many equally good shows out there, and with the rise of Netflix and the like so much choice and so little time. That said, Quarry is still worth your time if you haven't experienced it yet. The season does have a resolution of sorts and doesn't end on a cliffhanger. It leaves the possibilities open to take the story further but also has an ending to the set up season one explores. If you like strong drama with some great action sequences, stellar performances and the politically and socially charged 1970's then this show is for you.
... View MoreDo you start watching new shows expecting to have at least, a good narrative?Do you find yourself guessing (and getting it right) the next line of a dialogue in a series, because the script is so predictable?Do you just kind of get hooked up with mediocre TV series, because there is just nothing to see?Well my friend, then is time for you to watch Quarry. Finally some fresh air with an original idea and god damned well scripted series. Fine acting, fine filming, fine narrative and and incredibly well done 70s aesthetics. A good suspense drama that it won't disappoint you. Yes, see it.
... View MoreThis show totally surprised me, and continues to do so.What I like about Quarry, apart from the great acting, scripts and realism, is the fact I have no idea what is going to happen in each episode. The fight scenes and violence are truly realistic, and the car chase in one of the earlier episodes raised the bar in car chases. It was as if Quarry had strapped a GoPro to his head and then really rammed and taken on his opponents car. It was that realistic. It isn't all action, and the writers seem to use the time allotted carefully, to flesh out their characters, enhance the story and normally build to a crescendo for the ending.I think this series needs much more publicity, because it is such a hidden gem.
