    Sadly Over-hyped

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

I only watched first four episodes and frankly, I couldn't continue watching. The plot is weak, the concept reminds me of Dead Like Me, with one exception - DLM is actually watchable and entertaining.Where to start... The characters are not likable and I could not relate to any of them. I've read in some reviews that people like the bright and deep colors and scenery, but I've found it pretty annoying. It seems to me that the writers wanted to do something in DLM style but failed miserably.Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this show to anyone, it's pure garbage. The plot is weak, characters plain and boring and the premise (although it seems original) gives you the feeling of something chewed up and generic.

I started to watch this after finding out that people from Dead Like Me were involved. I liked DLM, so I gave it a try.At the beginning, I found the "magical" atmosphere, fresh colors and innocent-like attitude of the characters interesting. After a while, I found it rather annoying. The show always plays with the same instruments to try to make it special or different. It could have worked (and, indeed, it seems to have worked for its die-hard fan club). However, after analyzing it a bit, you can see how the show preys in the selfishness of human beings. Funny, since they try to picture it like a lovely series. If you find it difficult to understand, here there's an example: somebody can give life to a dead creature by taking the life of another. At the individual's discretion, this act is either something horrendous, or something beautiful that you do for people you love. ??????? See the double morality here? When it's good for a particular character, a selfish act automatically becomes something to admire. How is that giving a good example to anybody watching? The world has enough people thinking about their own interests for this show to be telling them that "it's okay" as long as you are selfish for a "good reason". Like feeling good with yourself. Jee, talk about twisted minds. Also, even though I understand that things were rushed due to the cancellation of the show, they could have put a bit of more effort in the ending. To wrap everything up in about 5 minutes gave a feeling of "what the **** is going on here". Perhaps it'd have been better to have left things untold rather that going for such an ending. For what all people say about how beautiful this show is, I would recommend to carefully see what implications the series is bringing to one's consciousness. Although, of course, most people only think about themselves, so fair enough.

Pushing Daises is one of the most interesting, unique, beautiful, colorful shows I ever had the pleasure to watch. I loved every minute of it, I just wish it didn't have to end, because the concept of the whole show was unique and charming like no other. Loved every second of it. It's really a shame that they had to cut such a great series so short, when it had everything to succeed, the fantasy around it, the characters, the narration, the colors, it's uniqueness made me really enjoy it, like few other shows did. It's late, but I really wanted to show my admiration for the series and everyone that helped to put it together. As well as my indignation towards its ending, because it really did have everything to go well.

Four years ago, this show premiered and I was immediately entranced. I watched every episode religiously. There are absolutely no words to describe the greatness of this show. The Cast-From the eclectic Olive to the hardened Lily, you could never ask for a more perfect cast. Every single actor gets so into their character, it's amazing. There's not a single character to dislike either. The characters are original and the actors playing them are fabulous. Three of the four main characters were all rightly nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes, however only Kristin Chenoweth nabbed one, but every single actor deserved one. Also, the guest stars deserve recognition; whoever cast Eric Stonestreet, Joel McHale, Wendie Malick, Jayma Mays, Molly Shannon, and more is an absolute genius. The Plot-I can't stand cookie-cutter plots that are close to other shows' plots, but this one is so original, quirky, and imaginative you cant't help but love them all. From a dog breeder in a polygamous relationship who is killed by one of his four wives to a killer Frescorts (friend escorts) owner, every episode is more outrageous than the last. In between these bizarre murder mysteries lie morals and family drama-they get so much in in every episode. There is also so much witty humor (that never goes stale)-each episode left me in stitches. The Sets-Absolutely stunning. Enough said. The Special Effects-Even the special effects are whimsical on this show. They look real while at the same time are so over the top you can't help but crack a smile. The Music-Jim Dooley is a master at this show. The music is truly beautiful. It doesn't get in the way of the show by any means, but it just adds another layer ot the fantastical and whimsical aspect of the show.Unfortunately, this show was too smart to survive more than two seasons, although it deserved many more. It premiered in the worst possible time (The Writer's Strike of '07) and only has twenty-two episodes, but they are truly the best twenty-two episodes TV was ever lucky enough to have. I suggest this to anyone and even two and a half years after its finale it still garners so much praise from everyone who watches it.
