It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

... View MoreVery interesting 6-part series offers a another perspective upon some crucial elements of the nazi state and nazi ideology. I'd rate this series 10/10 if some some parts were not censored. To be precise, in the fifth part that deals with the Himmler's managed terror system, also the atrocities of the einsatzgruppen are shown, but the actual archive footage of the Liepaja (Latvia ) massacre is censored (blured). Why??? This is a footage that has been used zillion times in all sorts of 2nd WW documentaries that deal with the Nazi commited mass executions. Imagine the documentary film would show some concentration camp where piles of dead bodies lie all around. Would the producers blur the whole archive footage in order to protect viewers? I guess the parential guidance and the viewer discretion warning because of some extremely violent content is more than enough. I hope censoring archive footage is not the new approach to sensitive historical materials. However, I allow the possibility that the censorship has been done by the TV channel that broadcasted this show (Viasat History) and not by the producers of the documentary film themselves.
