It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

I'm not consider myself to be a "shallow" audience who only like simple, thoughtless movie. I enjoy sciences of sleep, pan labyrinth, meeting John Malkovich, and other absurd imaginative movie. And I also consider myself to be anime appreciator, Cowboy Bebop is one of my most favorite I already watched it for more than 5 time. But Paranoia agent is too much for me, not because it is too deep, or too thoughtful,or too intelligence but because it is too stupid and ridiculous. I'm confuse after watching this movie not because the complexity of its meaning but because it have no meaning at all in conclusion. Early episode seems promising but when it is reach to episode 5 things going too nasty from there, my mind is tired not because I feel the author playing with my mind or blow up my mind hardly, but because I feel the author actually fooling my mind with his over wild yet childish imagination. However the early episode seems stunning and solid yet very very very disturbing (but I'm alright with that as long as it have something to offer), it seems fruitful and promising, but as the series goes I know it all just a pseudo it just a fake impression of intellect. The author lost his creativity and ruining whole of it. I really feel that I already waste my life time by watching this film. Don't be fool with the appreciation of the fan boy regarding this movie, because this is the very reason I watch this movie with high expectation. But it really ruin my mood, my time and energy. Unless you want to do experiment on watching a weird illogical movie, don't watch this especially if you want movie that at least have a thin ground of logic as its foundation, but it have everything inside it except logic, it totally absent on it. If I have to picture this movie with one word it will be: sick!

Satoshi Kohn has made a lot of great anime film's like, "Tokyo Godfather's" and"Millennium Actress". But in 2004, he created an anime show titled, "Paranoia Agent".The story is about a kid named, Lil Slugger, that goes around Tokyo assaulting people at night with his golden Baseball Bat. Now, the Police have to stop Lil Slugger. The story is great and what make's this show really great is that, in each episode, the people that get assaulted are facing problem's in reality. Like the character, Tsusiko, she's struggling to make the perfect stuffed animal and sometime's her talking stuffed animal, Maromi, help's her. Also, some episode's have good scare's.The only problem I have with this show is that episode's 8, 9 and 10 were mostly filler episodes. But overall, "Paranoia Agent", is a great anime show to watch. Even if you're a fan of Satoshi Kohn's work.

Hi everyone!I just finished watching paranoia agent and it was great! I really enjoyed it, though in the end I really didn't understand the cinclusion. I've found a few "This is what I think happened" type explnations, none of them seem to make any sense.Up to a point, I thought I knew what was going on but then the last episode came along and now I have no idea.I should point out that this ALWAYS happens to me. If a movie or TV show has any kind of meaning that isn't pointed out a million times, I'll miss it. I still don't understand fight club at all.Anyone know exactly what the hell happaned in the last episode? What was going on with Chief Ikari's world? Why did Tsukiko suddenly appear there? What on earth was the huge blob? Why did we go back to the start at the end?I'm so confused.

When I first heard of this series, I was doubting myself whether Satoshi Kon's "Paranoia Agent" would be worth my time. I've watched "Tokyo Godfathers" and thought it was really great and touching. When I watched "Perfect Blue" I began to think what was the point of the movie... it was just about an actress suffering from hallucinations and there were many unnecessary sexual references. I thought that Satoshi Kon was just wasting his time making the anime. It was pretty pointless and too twisted.Curious, I started to watch the first episode of "Paranoia Agent". I became interested in it after seeing how modern Japanese citizens run their own lives, while trying to deal with their own problems. The main character, Tsukiko Sagi, is the first to get attacked by Shōnen Bat (Lil' Slugger in English). Folowing next is a series of attacks, also conducted by Lil' Slugger, which are aimed at random people. The mystery here is for the police to solve and try to figure out the connections between the victims. The journey continues up until episode 13.Viewers are also encouraged to come up with their own theories: Why is Lil' Slugger attacking the victims? Is there something deeper about this case? "Paranoia Agent" explores society issues, and also makes us question whether human emotions and psychological conditions are strong enough to create their own illusions. Is Lil' Slugger even real? Just like other Satoshi Kon films, this series also contains many symbolisms, which help us viewers to understand more about the story. My last word is, if you like psychological thrillers, then "Paranoia Agent" is a must-watch. If you prefer lighter anime series, then don't (because this series can only be understood by more mature audience). The story may be way too complex and seem like it's going nowhere, but once you start watching it you'll become addicted and try to solve the mystery too.
