This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Absolutely LOVE this show. Can't believe how amazing the writing is. I started the series just out of boredom and cannot believe i hadn't started it sooner. The writing is phenomenal. characters are amazing. The drama is real, and really gets to you. The vulgarity of the show is intriguing, and shocking. Plot twists have your jaw on the floor, but begging for more. The ending of the show was bitter sweet, because they choose to end it and a good time, and not over kill it, yet sad not being able to see any more of this masterpiece. The surgeries are a tad intense which can make your skin cringe, but the more you watch the easier it gets. I have recommended this show to many people, all of which have LOVED it.All in all, the dark, hilarious humor, along with the anger, happiness, sadness, and shockingness of the show, is perfection.Start this show, and fall in love.

There are things to like and not like about Nip/Tuck. I didn't start watching the show till Season 4 till the very last episode, and only recently started the first three seasons. I'm noticing that the Miami years are/were the best seasons, but once the show moved to Los Angeles, the show came off more like a parody of its former self. It jumped the implants at Season 5.Drs. Sean McNamara and Christian Troy are the ultimate bromance: can't live with each other, can't live without each other. Sean the family man trying to do the right thing for his family, but when your stuck with a perpetually needy wife like Julia, a nutjob second wife like Teddy, and a perpetual screw-up "son" like Matt, it's hard to be a good guy all the time. Christian is the sexy egotistical ladies man who loves and leaves women, treats the women that do stick around (Kimber) like crap while trying to tolerate others (Gina), but turns to mush when it comes to his "son" Wilbur. You want to like Julia, Matt, and Kimber, but it's just so hard to do so. Julia is basically the desperate housewife with no direction in her life who seemed to never love Sean but stayed with him because he was the breadwinner and a good father to the kids. She loves Christian, she stays with Sean, she goes back to Christian, she sleeps with a dwarf, she tries being a lesbian, and on and on. Jesus, no wonder Sean is stressed. Matt is just a screw-up who gets into one bad situation after another even worse situation. The only time Matt is likable is when he knocks some sense to his parents, but then he goes back to being a screw-up all over again. Kimber is just a lost soul looking for fame, fortune, and romance, but instead gets into porn, gets treated like crap by Christian, and marries Matt thinking he's Christian 2.0 but is nothing more than Matt 0.0, before ending her sad life.Liz seems to be the only normal character out of the bunch. It's fun to see her and Christian go at each other.Despite the L.A. seasons, it's still a brilliant show.

Season 1-3 are the best television I've ever seen hands down, although they are a bit of an acquired taste. Many people take against the graphic violence and sex of this show, and the stomach churning realistic portrayal of plastic surgery. The show requires a suspension of belief because it covers such a wide variety of depraved and twisted issues that you just kinda have to go with it, but if you do, it's well worth the ride.Beneath the surface as well, Nip/Tuck deals sensitively with many issues not covered by other main stream shows, especially issues of sexuality and trans-gender, self harm, rape as well as many others. However I do end on a sour note. My rating of 10/10 is only up until the end of season 3. After that the show becomes a caricature of itself, focusing on bringing forth the most bizarre and depraved issues without studying characters or issues with any heart of sensitivity at all. Suspension of belief becomes next to impossible as characters have sex with dwarfs, a swathe of people get killed off at very coincidental and convenient moments, characters make decisions and do things that just seem totally inappropriate for that person and everything just goes a step too far. It still has it's moments, but it's definitely seasons 1-3 to watch.

OK I'm going to give you the entire review of how this show has been from start to finish. In the beginning this show was brilliant, witty, dark, and mesmerizing, but as of late its gotten terrible. I'm not exactly sure if they changed writers or what's happened but basically for the first four seasons it was going in a nice escalating pace and then somewhere in the beginning of the fifth it just became dark and stayed that way. I've been watching the last 2 seasons wondering when the're going to do something unpredictable or at least something noteworthy of how the show used to be, and yet nothing's happened. So here's the take on these last few episodes, they are boring, lifeless, plot less, and pointless. It almost feels like the writer just went through a divorce and wants everyone to feel as empty as he does because there's nothing amusing or appealing about these last two seasons. Please for the love of god write something worth watching because this garbage is not even drama.
