Well Deserved Praise
... View MoreLack of good storyline.
... View MoreIt really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
... View MoreThe film may be flawed, but its message is not.
... View MoreMuch has been written about the authenticity of Mystery Diners but it's a lot of fun, and entertaining seeing the undercover work that would make the NSA, CIA and Jason Bourne proud for sure.Running a restaurant is a tough business and profit margins (if any) are thin, and you can see the distress of the restaurant owners as they seek to right the wrongs inflicted by ne'er-do-wells who think they know how to do the right thing. In most cases the offenders get fire and surprisingly no unions are involved, no picketing, no social media outrage. This is really the tough love version of Undercover Boss.
... View MoreWell, at least the bad acting seems real. (NOTE:The previous line is sufficient to complete the entire review, but I am required to contribute 10 lines. So, I apologize for the excess rambling, but I will do my best not to be boring.) "Reality" TV should in fact stay true to at least its genre. It has to contain the element of being REAL. You don't go to a Chinese Restaurant that serves only hot dogs & perogies. It would be wrong. You go because you expect to find Chinese food. Any show that places itself under the category of "Reality" needs to at least have that one ingredient. It has to be REAL. Simple. Mystery Diners, even if all their episodes are reenactments based on actual events, which I highly doubt, that would not be enough for it to be considered to be categorized within the universe of "Reality". They may as well include the "Creature of the Black Lagoon" movies because they included real actors and a real lagoon. IMHO, these people who vomit out shows based on deception & the assumption that the public is primarily gullible are no better than scam artists preying on the weak & ill informed. Like a cockroach, they've found a crack within the walls of Reality TV from which to operate. Oh well. At least there is a bright side. Some of us may have lost a few hours to their con, but their reputation is lost for life. What goes around really comes around.
... View MoreWatched the Russian Mexican episode which was about a big dinner night and it was shot so obviously during the day. Even when Olga runs out of the set to do some errands - its broad daylight LOL. Unless the restaurant is in Antartica where the days are 72 hours long!! Fantastic entertainment. Don't look into it too much just enjoy it for being so utterly awful. I would even go as far as calling it a complete spoof. The acting is a disgrace reminding me of the cameo actors in the Red Alert computer game. I lost it in the golf episode where the golf cart attendant snuck in his group of mates who were completely off their guts tearing up the golf course, running over each other and sinking the cart into the lake! Especially loved the undercover golfer PI who held his hand to his ear every time her was ordered to do something. So good. Everything possible happens during the stings and the camera is always in the best position lol. It's so good. Enjoy.
... View MoreQuit scamming people Hollywood. It's why I no longer pay to see your SHI*T!!!What legal implications are involved with producers who offer no disclaimer and charade their programs as pretending to be real. It is ridiculous they are not held accountable.I don't understand why the producer can't be sued considering he does not offer a disclaimer that the program has faked scenarios.Just know something people ---You can't make a "reality" show without making it fake. It's impossible, because what you see takes careful planning and organization. Scenes have to be edited, actors have to know what to say (scripts), scenes have to be re-shot, they use make-up artists, caterers and times of events have to be arranged and scheduled FOR EVERY PRODUCTION, whether it charades as a "reality" TV show or it's a feature film
