The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

When this was on TV I used to watch it every Monday at 8pm, but when it went I was so annoyed, has to be one of my favourite TV series. Jason Lee has to be one of my all time top actors and is an inspiration as being him co-owning a company as large as Stereo is fantastic. Being a skateboarder myself and a keen actor I find that he is such a great actor inspiration and a fantastic skateboarder. This series contains a lot of great comedy but also sends a message to the viewers whilst doing so, Earls list takes you on an adventure through his life. Him and his brother both live together in a small cheap apartment and also always visit the Crab shack, this also adds to the humor.

This show is terrible, one of the worst things on recent television. The jokes are lame, corny, poorly written and delivered. The word Karma is said 1000 times an episode, and the situations are dull, dull, dull -- last time I checked, a sitcom meant situational comedy. The characters are uninteresting and boring. They're all essentially the same, ie dumb rednecks. The actors who play them are quite poor. It seems like they know they're in a sitcom and are trying to be funny. Jason Lee does this some of the time, and the only one who acts in any way believable is Jamie Presley, who can't save her character from being atrocious. This show is clever for people who don't get actual clever comedy. If you want clever, watch Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, It's Always Sunny, Seinfeld, and, dare I say, Scrubs, which is better than this dross.

I'd give this hilarious and original show a 10 if it wasn't for stupid ol' NBC canceling it on a cliffhanger. Now we'll never know who Earl Jr's real dad is! I will admit that the show got more and more gross every season(like in the episode "Nature's Game Show", Randy devours undelivered human organs), but that's no reason to cancel such a great show. I guess they canceled it because the ratings were terrible. Typically, people have no taste in television; they'd rather watch all the reality TV crap. In my opinion almost all of the really good shows are canceled before their time, but, then again, if I think it's really good, I don't think it should ever end. I know I sound like a complete nerd whining about frivolous crap such as TV shows, but I really hate it when shows are canceled on cliffhangers.

I agree with the comments regarding the downward spin. The last view shows have been a little better, but surely the writers need some more direction. I think the characters are still interesting, although sometimes they spin into the "white trash" things a little too much. Subtlety and nuance goes a long way on shows like "Office". I would think the target audience is somewhat similar being they are both on the same night and lineup. One would think that Karma and the whole eastern religion thing is a big enough topic to bring some different and interesting shows, but they only scratch the surface of the subject. In my opinion it shows the contempt that many people have in Hollywood about the level of intelligence of the masses. We can handle more heady content. It has been proved before in many other shows.
