This is How Movies Should Be Made
... View MoreAt first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
... View MoreIt really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
... View MoreIt's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
... View MoreJust watching the very first series and I noticed the Harper's house was very different back then. The lounge in the first series had a wall with a pool table by the front door, the under stairs cupboard door faced the front door which also opens the opposite to the later series. I notice the fireplace has moved from the kitchen side of the lounge to where there are two windows which are not there in the later series Susan and Ben's bathroom is on the opposite side to later episodes as is the fire place in the lounge! Also, there is a door to the right of the kitchen door and this is not there in the later series! I now find myself looking for these differences as I watch to try and find out when the house was altered! All very odd and I was so confused when I started watching from Episode 1 series 1! Astrid
... View MoreHow this execrable series ever got commissioned is a complete mystery. The scripts are possibly the least funny of any sitcom ever (well, since 'Are You Being Served' anyway), Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wannamaker seem to be phoning their performances in from another planet and the 'actors' playing the kids are a total talent-free zone. The humour is about as sharp as a spoon. The whole programme is strictly division three.Torchwood, this object, Bonkickers...... What's WRONG with the Beeb these days? They're turning into ITV (A channel that has NEVER had a remotely funny sitcom!).Just chuck the whole lot and show repeats of Blackadder, I Claudius and Fawlty Towers.
... View Moretotally classic episodes, all of them are different but just as funny. Totally original characters. My favourite is Nick who keeps coming up with random hair brained schemes or getting a new job after new job(one a day). Ben with his dental assistant problem and Suesan's fabulous cooking. Janey always trying to get money out of Ben for clothes, Micheal the family genies (so cute in series 5+6). Then there's Abi and Alfie who are a classic addition to the family. This program always makes me smile no matter what mood I'm in. After each episode my mum comes in to my room and says that sounded like a good episode because I've been laughing so much.
... View MoreFor years I have been trying to find a comedy that is even worth watching. I finally found it. Our local Public Broadcasting Station recently stopped carrying My Family every weeknight for a few months, and I have only seen about ten episodes. However, I was extremely impressed with what I saw. Nick's antics really add a lot to the series, along with Michael's contrasting seriousness. Kris Marshall does a terrific job of delivering Nick's one-line witticisms, which is one of the biggest reasons I tune every evening. I was also very impressed with Robert Lindsay, who plays Ben. He is great at being the father that doesn't really care. To anyone who is looking for a good laugh, try to find "My Family". I would have to say that the show is the best British comedy I have seen, and probably the best comedy worldwide that I have seen.
