    Absolutely Fantastic

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

So is it true that many of these TV serials get 8 to 10 stars from people who have invested in the shows? Anyway, nothing creative; nothing new; same old collection of the following non-creative plot/set ripoffs: a psychic; dead ghosts that look more like people with white powder on their bodies with messed up hair; ouija board (boring); holy water; a vampire or two; Lucifer; witchcraft and/or wicca; ritual sacrifice; possessed levitating bodies; animal to human switcheroo (like a werewolf); pentagrams & candles on floors; weird contact lenses to represent whatever; and the recent movie prop trick (now everywhere) of people/things turning into gray smokey stuff; Devil w/horns and other stereotyped characteristics walking about (you would think with his power he 'ld have better things to do). Acting: Typical no name TV serial resume actors. Dialogue: Dumbed down simplistic in part so it's easy to memorize short lines. Action: A couple of cheap CGIs; essentially 95% camera panning on talking heads.

In full disclosure, I have not read any of the books. I assume they are in the same category(I just cannot grace them with the word genre) with most of this overwritten vapid stuff. This wasn't researched at all. I suppose the author just made it up as she went along. The inattention to detail is apparent in the script for the TV version as well. The writing is horrible but is probably in line with the original work. There is no character development at all. There is nothing that makes anyone care about any of these people. When this occurs the first blame goes to the writing, then the director. The acting is not great either. I only recognize a few of them. I know this is going to sound really mean but you know to whom this series was directed when the guys are all prettier than the girls. The production design, costuming, and art direction all show a lack of budget which indicates a lack of commitment to the vision thus the series. I just don't see this in next season's lineup. The story is tenuous. It is a total waste of time. I mean you know its a dud when you DVR it and fast-forward through more than just the commercials. I was going to give it a single star but reconsidered and gave it 3 stars just because I like some of the actors.

The first episode was good, but unfortunately the show loose some interest over the episodes. Very mixed scenes that doesn't make any sense in the time frame... I guess that if they trade some episodes it would made a huge difference. Gladly episode 1x09 was totally awesome, so to me this is a keeper and I hope other people give it a chance and don't give up on it.

I was a little skeptical while watching the pilot that the show would be any good But it really draws you in after a few episodes and you just can't get enough. Usually I am bothered by the CGI effects if they do not seem real enough but in this show somehow I don't really care because everything else is just fun. + some of the actors are great.
