Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
... View MoreVery Cool!!!
... View MoreAll of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
... View MoreClose shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
... View MoreThis show made me cry and made me get lost in a show that has so much meaning from heartache, to recovery, to the struggle of marriages. I definitely hope this show continues!! And Lucy Hale is incredible, her acting has always amazed me from Pretty Little Liars, to this tear jerking role she has taken on now!!
... View MoreI watched Season 1 and found it provided what I sometimes need from television: a brief enjoyable escape. I don't agree with some reviewers that there is nothing of substance. I appreciate observing each marriage and it's respective struggles and joys. I hope we get Season 2.
... View MoreTerminal cancer patient Stella Abbott (Lucy Hale) is preparing for her living funeral with her family and her boyfriend Wes. Suddenly, she's cured and that's when her problems start. Her family has been hiding their difficulties from her. Her father is buried in debt. Her mother is leaving him to explore her sexuality. Her sister is bitter about her sacrifices and from the stress of her family. Her irresponsible brother Aiden is sleeping with soccer moms, selling pills, and living under his parents. Wes wants kids which may not fit Stella's plans as well as many other issues. Stella befriends young cancer patient Sadie and hot new oncologist Dr. Will Grant starts becoming an issue.I want to like this for the ultra cute Lucy Hale with her big brown doll eyes. It has an interesting concept which takes a different spin on a cancer patient. It could be something unique, challenging, and life affirming. Instead, it bogs down in melodrama and is filled with frustrating characters. These people all have self-inflicted wounds. They are all flawed in a flawed way. I find everyone slightly annoying despite the fact that I want to like everyone on this show. The most infuriating is Aiden who does his reckless things with a boyish smile and a shrug. None of them are really worthy to root for. It's hard when the lead's relationship is not allowed to breathe. I never fell in love with their love and the speed bumps along the way only act to throw the viewer off. It would be nice to be uplifted by this show and the obvious vehicle is Sadie. The problem there is that Sadie is relegated to the background as her story fades away. Some people may like the soapy melodrama but this should aim for a higher target.
