A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.

Hey Fox Listen Up Here !John Doe was a great show. I am not sure why they would cancel it. The ratings could not have been that bad. The acting is great. The script is wonderful. After watching the first 4 shows I got hooked. The theme is great for a show that seems not to have a big budget. The actors seems to really try to make the show real. Now all we need to do is call up fox, and yell to them. "hey we want this back" If you are not going to bring back the show at least release the right to someone who would like to bring it back!John Doe Must Live ON!

The character John Doe awakens on a deserted island a few miles off the coast of Seattle, he knows everything, however, the crucial things (his name, who he is, family data is unknown). The first episode is terrific as all are. The last episode is a real cliffhanger, unfortunately the series was cancelated after the first season. I believe in the second season we would have found out more information regarding who John Doe really is. Unfortunately, as with any great program, the the executives do not really care about the fans, they only care about the bottom line. With that, we have all seen programs air for several seasons that should have been cancelated after the first few episodes. I have seen every episode. The program has some excellent actors. Domininc Purcell does a stand-up job as John Doe. The remaining cast performs superbly. Every episode is excellent, the show contains a tremendous amount of mystery, and twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Dominic Purcell brings energy and skill every time you see him on the screen. On a different note, I have heard that a feature length movie is in the works, however, the skinny is that Wesley Snipes will be cast as John Doe. Wesley Snipes is a terrific actor, however, I believe he is not the right actor to portray John Doe.

This show had all the makings of a great series; good plot and back story, characters you cared about and a "feel good" resolution each week. A "Lost" before there was one. But like a lot of good series that Fox didn't know what to do with, it was cancelled. But maybe this one wasn't Fox's fault. The end of the series came for me when they killed off one of the best characters it had. Karen did NOT have to die to move the plot forward. It would have been better to have John Doe chase the Phoenix group around for a few more episodes trying to rescue her and Theresa, the unknown woman from the ferry he tried to track down for the first half of the show. The weird airing schedule didn't help much either. You never knew if you were to see a new episode or an old re-run when you tuned in. Only one new episode in February? During Sweeps? Can you say "shoot my foot?" At least they were able to work for a year, most of them anyway.

I loved the series, but thought the ending was crap. It seemed as if they rushed to give answers in the last few episodes because they new the show was axed.My theory is the Phoenix are a cult organisation that want to dispel any proof of God.John Doe is Jesus reborn, 'Pheonix rising from the dead'. This explains his infinite knowledge of everything except who he is. He doesn't remember who he is because that we he can relate to the mortal search (by every human here)for the meaning to who they are on a soul level, whilst living amongst the rest of us and dealing with what happens around us in every day life. His infinite goodness of his nature he does what he can to assist in the righting of wrongs by assisting the police. The Phoenix know who he is and realise he will find out the answers to where the staff is and the high importance in his existence, due to his inner knowledge/intelligence and desire and commitment to his search. John will realise who he really is and his true origin when he holds the staff and gains the power of God to serve the universal good. So the Pheonix is trying to find the staff before John does so they can destroy it and prevent the rebirth of Christ.
