It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Judge Patricia Di Mango needs to listen more rather than interrupting litigants, Litigants should have the right to make their point. A litigant by the name of Donald Hughes who's dog was attacked was slandered by Di Mango when he should have been applauded for stepping out of the court room rather than being subjected to Di Mangos rude behavior toward him.

The judges are more interested in getting in their soundbites, much more than listening to the witnesses. On a recent episode, they attacked a witness on the plaintiffs side and made all sorts of allegations about his truthfulness I didn't see any evidence of the person being untruthful. Meanwhile the person on the other side was smirking, hesitating before answering and admittedly not being truthful? It made no sense, except like I said they were practically carrying on a one sided conversation from the bench. They said the one witness was being defensive. Which is peoples normal reaction when others start accusing them of something they didn't do. Really, really strange.

I used to love this show. The judges were fair in their decisions and respectful of the litigants. I enjoyed watching the show. In the last couple of months, the show has devolved into more of a WWF version of lawyers. Which judge can be more rude, which one can yell over the litigants, who can be more insulting? This applies only to the women; Judge Corriero has maintained a professional demeanor. What happened to the female judges? I can imagine a memo from Judge Judy (who I have never liked nor watched because of her insulting manner) instructing the judges to be more edgy. I have news for you, some lace around her robe does not soften her; a big smile from Judge DiMango or Judge Acker after they have shouted over the litigants does not soften their behavior at all.I guess you are looking for an audience who cheers abusive behavior instead of applauding people treating each other with respect.

I am shocked by the other reviews. I like Hot Bench the best of all the "judge" shows. It is more informative than any of the others. You don't just have a court case and a verdict. It is more in-depth. You get to hear what the judges are thinking in terms of what evidence was lacking, how the litigants should have proceeded, and how important selecting the most appropriate wording for your court papers are. For example, in one episode, the judges discussed how unfortunate it was that the plaintiff did not sue the defendant under a different category, because they then would have been able to award damages to the plaintiff. You learn a great deal from the deliberation portion of the show. You get to understand what compels the judges to rule they way they did on each case. This is what sets it apart from all other similar shows.I love the show. I would hate to see it canceled.
