While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

I watched this show while I was videogaming, in the background, most of the time just hearing them talk without watching. After a few episodes I realized it wasn't worth all my attention. First season of 12 boring episodes just to see some action in the last one.The story is okish and could've been better. It's more interesting from season 2 tho still not a great story line, a bit ridiculous in my opinion. The end is just bad. Major fail with the gypsy speaking romanian and not their own language, it's not like all gypsies come from there and now Romania doesn't only have vampires/upirs but werewolves too. I didn't understood why the characters acted the way they did, very confusing and abnormal. My favorite character was Dr. Johann Pryce. He deserved better. I think it was a good idea but the development didn't worked.

It's truly terrible. I haven't read the book(s) so I don't know how it compares but it breaks its own rules in the universe that it created, for one. The acting is hit and miss. Maybe the characters are supposed to also let their native accents slip? A lot? It gets much worse in the third season. Speaking of the third season, it's a travesty and doesn't know where it wants to go or who it wants to be. Just throw it at a wall and see what sticks. On top of that, let's just smear it with incest and pedophilia for good measure.

*THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*I just finished watch all 3 seasons of Hemlock Grove, i have to say that the movie had so much potential but they did so bad. First of all, the acting was awful and forced at some characters(Clementine Chasseur especially), complicated lines where they speak a lot of big words but don't say quite anything and some holes in the story. I think Roman sleeping with Annie was too much ( i mean, i understand that sleeping with Letha was shocking and intriguing but how much bad luck can he have, really). Bottom line, you can watch the show if you can bear bad acting, mistakes and broken scenario . The story is very good but they didn't know to work with it properly.

I love most of Eli Roth's movies and his sense of humor and absurdity. The first season was great until the end. The acting was good as with the twist with the intelligent girl being the werewolf but not Rowen becoming a vampire. Like another poster wrote how Peter gets his face ripped off and dies. Comes back as a wolf. Dies again. Then all of a sudden there a scene in gypsy trailer where they just say he woke up in bed with his girlfriend somehow. Who knows? He just did? It's was magic! It was like Jon Snow or the Oriental character on the Walking Dead. I hate it when you are immersed and then it just breaks you out of a show by the ridiculousness of it, the audience manipulation. This review is only for season one mind you. The first episode got me hooked especially in the high school when they first show Rowen's sister who looks like something out of a Tim Burton film. This is a crappy review but just finished the last episode, 13, which is 3 to many as there are such boring long lulls towards the end of season one.Anyway thank you posters for the majority warning about seasons two and three. I don't want to go through another season of this if it is worse. There is so much I don't get but I don't want to waste anymore time on it.
