SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?
... View MoreJust so...so bad
... View MoreIt's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
... View MoreI think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
... View MoreThe changes to Harry's Law from season 1 to season 2, changing from an original, clever show to another run-of-the-mill law show, is a shame. Kathy Bates has gone from a quirky store front lawyer in the ghetto handling unique cases to just one of a number of lawyers in what could be any big time law firm.Gone are two original characters (both black) replaced by Mark Valley (Really??!!) and some yuppie black female. This debacle has network executive hands all over it. A guy named Greenblatt took over NBC this year and no doubt thinks he's going to be the genius who saves NBC. And seems to think he's better at creating a show than David E. Kelly. What a shame to lose such a unique program. I'm done after watching the opening 4 episode story with a totally unbelievable character played by Jean Smart and has Harry defending a very rich white guy. Who cares?
... View MoreKathy Bates, is back... Wow this first episode had me in tears with the amount of truth passion and honesty in its delivery. The notion that you would even dare to put on another Legal drama on New Zealand TV is preposterous but Harry's Law, really works I know it's only viewed as a TV show but ya know what? This has just become my 'NEVER MISS' new show. The mix of rough off the street thugs seeking Legal Aid and the shoes "WHAT ABOUT THE SHOES" its way up there with all that is holly aka Prada.. Amen to the writers supporting actors and Kathy Bates you rule beyond rule.. 'SEX IN THE CITY' who??? Now I could go on line and watch the next episode, but I will wait the 7days just to savor tonight's viewing pleasure but honestly can't wait for next week. Thank you TVNZ and TV1
... View MoreI just started watching Harry's Law, and I am quite enjoying it. I have been a fan of Kathy Bates since Fried Green Tomatos and she just keeps getting better. I love her in this role - this show has definitely got the David E Kelley touch- interesting (and sometimes zany) characters...check - signature courtroom rants..check. absurd situations..check - seriously...a law office/shoe store? Ridiculous and hilarious! I was a huge Boston Legal Fan, and now, watching Harry's Law, despite the fact that the situation of the lawyers is different, there are many similarities. It's kind of odd to see Mark Valley as a lawyer again (but can I just say YUM!) I find it a little disturbing how well Christopher McDonald channels William Shatner - the character has the same silly personality and huge ego and he sounds so much like Shatner sometimes it's eerie - right down to the oft-repeated "Tommy Jefferson" line. That bugs me a little sometimes. There was and should ever be only one "Denny Crane" Still in all, there are compelling situations (and some very emotionally charged scenes as well) and the writing is sarcastic and clever - some of my favourite things in a show. I will definitely keep watching.
... View MoreI loved this show, until the first episode of the new season. I'm so disappointed! What on earth have they done to such a great show? And what a waste of a great talent like Kathy Bates! The charm of this show was the one-on-one accessibility of a lawyer with an open door to the poor community. A gang member could open the door from the mean streets and find Harry, a grumpy yet fearless advocate, on the other side of that door. Now it looks like any other cookie-cutter law show. There was the fun of a law office combined with a show store. Now that's gone. And what happened to the assistant, who wanted to be a lawyer. There was no explanation of his departure. The storyline of the past seasons included Tommy and Harry becoming friends, but there was still a respectable distance that kept things interesting. The quirky underdog was what gave this show appeal and separated it from all the other "Law" shows on TV. Harry's Law lost at least one fan.
