... View MoreI can not watch a whole show. Fear factor is comparable to the old circus tent with people eating glass or swallowing swords. I can watch for 10 minutes then I say let's go to the roller-coaster. After years of watching big time movie stunts, fear factor is pretty tame. The show also tryies to sell sex with the deal, but like with stunts the public is over exposed with Virtora Secrits fashion shows and other low budget programing one is harding and the shock/sex factor is nil. The shows producers must save money on sets writers, and directors with Fear Factor. Little depth with the show, makes one wonder about the dumbing down of society. Where is the depth with people. Between the PCers and the Shock type shows there leave little room for any real art anymore. I notice a lot of the people on reality TV seem to be big ego attention starved individuals. I say do something better with one's time.

People that subscribe to this type of sham have way too much free time on their hands, Buy any book and read it. Stay away from this putrid piece of fantasy in hopes that it will die a quick death ! Could be rated along with Blind Date, 5th Wheel, and Regis and Kelly as some of the worst TV shows of this century, or all time ! Well, according to Garp, these comments must be at least 10 lines long whether it deserves it or not. How is that for Hollywood crap? The worse it is, the more you need to shoot it down !
... View MoreIt is one thing to have a game show where contestants conquer their fears. It is quite another to produce a series, which makes the Gong Show look like Shakespeare. Mostly they get contestants to eat such disgusting things as live beetles, live worms, pig anuses, bull testicles and penises, goat spinal cords and whatever other else that is worse one could imagine. But tonight they outdid themselves by having each of the contestants suffer through 20 piercings if their arms with needles of various sizes, producing, not only squeamishness, but pain and blood. This is the sort of entertainment the ancient Romans and the Nazis got off on. In a land where we are supposedly showing how civilized we are to the "barbaric" Middle-Easterners, this certainly isn't going about it the right way. Two thumbs down or thumbs off or thumbs bitten off and swallowed to the sadistic "auteurs" who produce this trash. I try not to be prudish about things, but I have my limitations.
... View MoreFear Factor is like a car wreck - everyone wants to watch it, but hope they never have to be in it. My 'beef' is with the episode that had 3 women and 3 men bobbing for rings in the tank of cow's blood. Was it entirely necessary to show the women showering with the blood running down their breasts, thighs, legs and feet? Compared to the men's showers, it was like two different episodes. Is that totally necessary? When the male contestants showered, one never sees the midsection or blood washing down through their pelvic region. Are the producers afraid that showing men with blood in the shower would indicate that they were menstruating? Puh-leez! This wasn't the first show (and probably not the last) to portray the female body in a negative image, and the unequality in filming the genders is offensive. This episode left me wondering if the portrayal of women in America will ever be on an even par with the macho image that the baggy-shorted males. Remember, half of the population (and the contestants) are female, so show the same angle for both, or don't bother to show it at all.
