There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

FreeFormTV seems to gear the bulk of its new programming toward California and the overall west coast experience. That represents geographical bias on the part of the network. Three of its sub mediocre series, 'Alone Together ', 'groanish' and 'Famous in Love', are three examples of FFTV's strong Golden State orientation. Enough already!

The latest Freeform drama series created by I. Marlene King and the same showrunner behind Pretty Little Liars. Like PLL, Famous in Love is also based on a YA novel series of the same name. While I'm not all that familiar with its source material, this one should be a little cold overview from me.The premise of the show is as you expected (from what the promos and glimpse description had presented), a show about an aspiring actress that suddenly received a huge break towards a Hollywood-style stardom. Leaving room for a little possibility of the heroine to struggle between her newfound stardom, personal life, relationships (Hollywood and otherwise), hookups, drama, and such. That's essentially how the 1-hour pilot episode unfolds. ****mild spoiler in the following paragraph****Introducing the protagonist of the show, Paige Townsen (portrayed by Bella Thorne), a college student sharing a LA apartment with friends, who went on to audition for the role in Locked-- a new movie based on a popular YA series --alongside her best friend Cassie (Georgie Flores). Next core characters bring us Rainer (Carter Jenkins), an actor with a lead role in the movie as the love interest, and Jordan (Keith T. Powers), a fellow rival actor that Rainer had bad history with over dating a pop-star. Then there's Alexis Glenn (Niki Koss), a working actress, who appears to mediate both of the guys' affairs. Paige, of course, later received a callback after her first audition and then eventually finds herself rehearsing with Rainer on a scene. What started out as a little rehearsal or two for Paige immediately develop into a complicated scenario full of sparked chemistry and tensions. Not to mention another little similar scenario that took place before the second audition involving Jake (Charlie DePew)--the aspiring screenwriter, and roommate of Paige. Paige made a promise to attend Jake's production with Cassie where she, of course, ends up missing the very night of due to other plans and rising conflicts. In the end, few more new surprises and affairs have suddenly arisen... and one of them involved a close relative?! Only in Hollywood, I guess...Overall, I don't know if Famous in Love would be the kind of new series that Pretty Little Liars fans can get readily into coming from King. I'm also not sure if this show can really serve as a good successor to PLL, right after the latter's own farewell season finish its run. The tone is certainly different from a PLL suspenseful nature-- where FiL is more of a dramedy about Hollywood life instead. I think the premise might be all right for fans of Bella Thorne or those that read the book series, and I'll allow the book fans to be the judge of how this show compares to its source material so far. From what I could tell from here, the series does not feel all that original. There's a predictable little storyline for this kind of premise along with some clichés, tropes, and outcomes that many probably have been too familiar with before from other similar works. A critical focus of this show is about the relationships --- particularly an obvious love triangle (that reminisces something out of Twilight for a show-within-a-show kind of concept), which could turn into a rectangle... or a love hexagon that includes a producer... depending on how that would all pan out. Once again, the pilot has an average plot that really didn't offer anything new or innovative with its premise. Freeform also made the entire 10 episodes available now for demand and streaming services. Something there for viewers to binge-watch in the meantime.

OK so I'm not a total fan of Bella Thorne but I've seen her Disney channel's shake it up and it think she's an OK actress so i gave this show a try, and wham i fell in love. Every episode leads you on, revealing the most outrageous secrets about each character leading on to more intense drama. So it's basically about a girl named Paige (Bella Thorne) who starts in the beginning having a normal life roommates with her two best friends Cassie and Jake but then one day new movie decides to cast random girls in town and her best friend Cassie convinces Paige to go with her and she does not expecting to receive the role and wham she becomes famous which is where our story takes us. Everything that Paige knew is gone her life turns and changes happen as if her her life is turned upside down such as her friends becoming distant from her because of her new famous life, torn between liking her best friend Jake and her new costar Rainer, above all that everyone has secrets which us deeper leaving us with "wtf" every episode we hit next. It's that damn good, can't for season 2!!!!!!

I can not wait for season 2. Excellent cast and the plot <3. I was sitting all day and watched the whole season in one breath. Interesting development, I hope that it will be continued. Also I like all characters, because they are so different and bright! The TV-show makes you worry about them like they are your close friend :D
