How wonderful it is to see this fine actress carry a film and carry it so beautifully.

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

I was assigned to watch this series for my Spanish 3 course. Upon hearing about having to watch a series for a class I was disappointed. The precedent for good educational shows is set very low in my personal experience. As soon I began to watch this cinematic masterpiece, I immediately connected with this group of characters: their struggles, their day to day dramas was just so relatable and entertaining. This has supplemented my educational growth as a Spanish speaker while being a boatload of fun. The only grievance I had with this show was that it came to an end with a meager 13 episodes. I want more Extr@. These characters were relatable and funny. The acting was surprisingly great for an educational program. The jokes were funny while at the same time being educational. It kept my interest throughout each episode, something some mainstream TV struggle to do. I would recommend this series to anyone who wants a good time while learning.

This show is a great language learning resource. I have watched all of the episodes of Extr@ auf Deutch, and I wish there was more! IT is a watchable, low-vocabulary show with subtitles in the spoken languages. This combination, I believe, is integral to intermediate/beginner learners because it builds listening skills without overwhelming the listener. It's a great place to start before moving on to the real TV that Germans watch! The comedy isn't breaking any ground, but I have found myself laughing out loud several times before. A few points where it might see criticism are on the fact that the women are portrayed a bit too sexually and the show does seem to glorify Americans (these are for the German Episodes)

Since I could not find an entry for "Extr@" French on IMDb I'm writing for review for Extra here on the English version entry. Extra is an educational sitcom consisting of 13 episodes. Each episodes last about 25 minutes. Annie (Marie Cordillot) and Sacha (Vanessa Seydoux) share a flat. Their next-door neighbor Nico(Jean-Felix Callens)is a disorganized, humorous macho fellow. Sacha's American penpal Sam (Lawrence Ray) comes to France to visit her. His limited command of French serves as the central dynamic of for the language learning content of the series. Hsi trying to get to grips with the daily French is highly amusing actually. For instance in one episode he uses "poubelle roti" instead of "poulet roti". In another episode he asks for a camel(un chameau) instead of a hat(un chapeau)while he is trying to do some shopping. He even mistakes fish(poisson) for poison. In the description of the DVD it says "You do not need a tutor The program EXTR@ will get you a unique opportunity in the shortest time possible to extend your vocabulary and learn perfect pronunciation. Inspecting an entertaining video, words and phrases common in everyday situations, will be assimilated and remembered by you without much effort." This is completely true. If you want to brush up on FRENCH,Spanish,German or English(by the way there were four versions made: French, German, Spanish and ESL) Extra is a great way of doing so.
