    Terrible acting, screenplay and direction.

In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

As a former fan of this show, it's rather sad for me to admit that this show has definitely gone downhill with lazier writing. Before, EastEnders use to tackle a variety of things but made sure that it was built up instead of just popping out of nowhere. The cast also seemed more believable at the time and they've always managed to keep their viewers interested and entertained by clever pacing, twists, characters, performances and overall pacing.Unfortunately, even EastEnders cannot stand on it's two feet for that long anymore. It has gotten to be pretty lazy with repetitive affair plots, pregnancy plots etc. For how repetitive the writing can be, it can also make it pretty unrealistic and that applies to he newer cast as well which is a shame because some characters like Vincent are really good.Do I think this show can still improve? It depends on whether they can cook up something fresh or new because otherwise I'd say they need to take a break.

EastEnders from 2010 (when Kirkwood arrived) to 2013 (when Newman departed) was abysmal. A show which I knew if I missed an episode it wouldn't matter, as I probably wouldn't have missed much. The story lines were unrealistic, and the drama was horrific. No serious issues were covered whatsoever. Now, the latest executive producer (Treadwell-Collins (2013 - )) has completely transformed the show. EastEnders thrives in the ratings at the moment, touches on serious, touching topical issues and portrays them as realistically as possible and provides an excellent balance of drama and laughter, of which the drama is unmissable. Every cliffhanger leaves you wanting more. The only downside is EastEnders is usually replaced with football, so you may have to wait an extra day to watch the programme, but nevertheless it's most certainly worth the wait for the quality episodes. If you ever consider watching EastEnders, then now's the time to tune in peeps!

The worst, and the most depressing programme on the BBC. Yet they still insist on showing it 5 nights a week and not just on BBC1. It has never been great. I have to admit watching it for a while to see what other people were on about when they talked about it and used it to make conversation. The domestic abuse storyline with Little Mo was probably the last time I watched it with interest, but I well and truly gave it up after that.It is guaranteed to be particularly miserable at Christmas / New year with a death, big accident, or some other storyline that has been recycled several times. The BBC continue to use it to glamorise hate, misery, conflict, violence, dysfunction and other social diseases. All the time, money and effort that goes into making this soap is a terrible waste, and should be put to better use.

This is just as awful as American Soap Operas, but with that British cachet that Murricans love to exalt. Really, I heard a highly educated person once gush to a British person about this tripe.I guess it isn't any more offensive than "Days of our Lives" or "The Edge of Night." Thin unbelievable plot lines, acting that sometimes is embarrassing. Carol Burnett got it right when she had scenes depicting a typical soap.I'm not so much surprised that it is a Soap Opera and it is bad. I am surprised at the number of folks who think this show is a cultural event because it's British and imported to Public Television.
