... View MoreWow! Such a good movie.

... View MoreI watched this once. That was enough. I really dislike all reality TV. Cancel all series. When I was growing up you had 4 choices: wild kingdom, Jacques Cousteau, real people and that's incredible. I am tired of pawn guys, house guys, dancing, singing, cars guys, etc. . I remember I would watch a limited amount and be satisfied. Please put old cartoons, the Bowery boys, serials, anything but reality TV. It is very annoying and boring. Also rerun the million dollar movie. Does anybody remember that? Remember the talk shows that had tact, taste, were intelligent and dealt with important topics with guests that had recognizable names? I used to watch David susskind, David frost, dick cavett. Not the hosts of today. Too bad they don't have a school for possible talk show hosts!
... View MoreSome of the show's popularity can be traced to the family-values theme of the program (even though they argue a lot), which usually ends with the clan all together for a quick prayer of thanks at dinner time. People like and appreciate that, because they don't see this on any other TV show. Those who don't will bash and hate the program. Too bad people can't set their political/religious agendas aside and watch the program for its unique humor, and then decide if they like it or not.For those who still haven't checked out this show - and there are more out there than you think - you have to give this about three episodes before you judge it. At first, it will appear stupid, on second look it's okay-but-nothing-great and by the third, you're hooked. At least that's how I and a number of friends found it to be.Having watched four full seasons, all on DVD (the best way to watch TV shows), I would suggest starting right from the first season, which is the best one anyway. I think the shows slowly went downhill, and by the end of the fourth season it looked like the writers were running out of ideas.Nonetheless, it is generally a fun show to watch and I can see why it has been so popular. It's different, a reality/comedy show uniquely filmed about a bunch of scraggly-looking rednecks from Monroe, Louisiana, who own and operate a duck calling business. They are the Robertsons. The film is narrated by the oldest brother, Willie, who is CEO, and is constantly aggravated by his lazy crew. The most popular person on the show seems to be "Uncle Si." I agree; he's easily the funniest guy on the program. Whatever, all the people on the show, including the wives and parents, contribute in one way or another.
... View MoreWhat can I say about this "reality" show? I could say the it is an embarrassment to every self-respecting citizen of the country these red neck cretins claim to be from (although without subtitles, how could you tell?). I could say that the Robertson's are one of the most intelligent families in the country since they have found a sure fire way of extracting millions from the lowest(in intelligence and economic status) element. I could say that this show represents everything that has gone wrong in the entertainment industry in the last several years. I could say that people who watch the show just get off on watching others humiliate and demean themselves (but that would be indicative the the viewer not the show). I could say that the fact that millions watch this show every week means that Armageddon can not be far away. Or, I could just look at the content, spelling, and grammar of the reviews of those that gave the show 10 stars and hope that the next generation raises the bar up out of the mud.
... View MoreI love that this family is not afraid to state it's biblical beliefs and Christian viewpoints. With 11.8 million viewers I think the American people are starving for family friendly entertainment and the Robertson's give us that. If this show ends on account of political correctness that will be a real shame and disappointment to a lot of people. A&E is supposed to be all about originality with a slogan like "Be Original" but that does not seem to be the case when it comes to accepting people of faith. A&E does not recognize that there are millions upon millions of Americans in this country that share the same views and religious beliefs as Phil Robertson. If they truly embraced diversity and valued tolerance they would accept this fact and allow Phil to continue with the show. As for the Robertson family I think A&E needs them more than they need A&E. In fact they don't need A&E at all. Let's not forget Phil Robertson is a man who gave up a career in the NFL in order to not miss out on hunting season, I don't think he'll bat an eye at giving up a television show in order to stay true to his religious beliefs.
