Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

This series is so damn slow/boring/predictable and cliché.The characters are one dimensional and have tons of illogical actions but then again there aren't really any characteristics that defines them so they can tap dance all they want. But seriously. What's with all the praise for this show? It's nothing special really.I guess the art and animation are okay..mby but that's it really. As far as the story is concerned it doesn't move. It's like static idea that doesn't get into anyone's head.I wonder how it got into the writers head to begin with.Guess that's the mystery we will never solve.Don't watch it.1/10

I was't much of a fan of Code Geass R1, I never even watched the whole thing because I thought it was a passable show at best. So I skipped to this one to see if things got more exiting. But this sequel is absolutely bad. I watched about 4 episodes and it got worse and worse as it went on. There is a ridiculous amount of plot twists and deus ex machinas that defy logic in ways that insult your intelligence. The plot twist aren't very good, they feel forced and from those 4 episodes I did watch, there was one or more each episode and they really are just silly. The deus ex machine is even worse in my opinion, I probably can't list them all here since I haven't watched the whole thing, but when things two people using their Geases (I think that's how it is in plural form, I'm really not sure) to somehow STOP TIME, you know that something is very wrong with this show. I've read what happens at the end, and honestly, it's just completely idiotic, I won't say to avoid spoilers but there is no reason it should of ended that way, it was just an excuse to be "dramatic" when they were just being silly as usual. Not worth your time, I wouldn't even recommend R1, even if it is better, it's just mediocre, even if it looks magnificent in comparison to this.

Aside from the little flaws, this anime is brilliant. It's overall well planned, meaning the fame didn't affect the quality of the show and the care that any respected series should show to the authors. They have a lot of character development all the characters are fascinating.Don't be fooled by first impressions. Don't get angry over everyone being way too skinny. The anime has a high level of intrigue and battles are fought with intelligence, tactics and logics as much as strong arms. The ever-twisting plot lines, and the even more twisted characters make this anime a worth watch, this combined with the very well made art, animation and plot make this anime a must-see.Every action taken by the main character results in a consequence, unpleasant ones by the most part, but that's part of this show's appeal. Zero's world is a harsh and lonely one.You have a forsaken protagonist that has attributes of an anti-hero who is out for revenge. This is an extraordinary series. In the wake of his new ability the path to his grand ambition is clear. It is a long one filled with carnage, malice, deceit, betrayal all supplemented with a twisted facade of friendship. This is an anime that you just cannot afford to miss.Protagonist is awesome. Not one of those wishy washy heroes. He's dark and good. More depth to a 'hero' than the typical black/white anime. Code Geass is one hell of a ride. Story is amazing and so is the protagonist. This anime has got best ever ending is TV history. Just be sure to have 3 days of empty schedule when you start this series. It's a must see! It is the definition of "epic" itself. What are you waiting for? Just give it shot, you will absolutely love it.

Somehow this anime includes geopolitics, imperialism, servitude and rebellion with mecha and does fairly well. I would say that this is among those animes that the use of mecha is justified. After all Britannia, a neo-feudal empire utilises them for their knights and the rebel forces for their samurai, what a wonderful idea to combine and present them to entertain.Colouring in Code Geass is outstanding. It makes the scenes and characters vivid. The scenes capture the feeling of the moment powerfully and when it comes to anticipation and suspense it shines. As for the sound it fits the setting and complements it. I found that when it came to Lelouch the background music articulated his aura with engrossment. The story unravels itself for the most part and it seems that by the conclusion of the season and the anime many of the story's elements have been clarified. At times the story gets exhilarating, thrilling and makes one wonder. There are moments in the story that raise questions that would have impacted the its flow and perhaps, as I think about it, changed the ending. Also, moments where it appears that it behooved the writers to include such fan service. As a whole the story by episode can become very intense to mild and back to very intense again, eventually even. The themes that occur in Code Geass are servitude where one is to serve the status quo to change it. Rebellion where outright insurgency and defiance to occupation in order to displace it. Treason and loyalty, the question of who is a traitor and who is loyal. The use of power and justice, a case to protect others with righteousness or survival of the fittest - law of the jungle. And, the essence of people, what exists within people behind their appearance. Servitude and rebellion are emphasised. Its a wonderful anime to watch and develops interest as it progresses. A lot of effort was put into this anime and that itself is commendable. If you like mecha and are reasonably knowledgeable with history you could like this very much.Enjoy!
