The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

I try to give everything a fair shot and at the very least I'll give a show three episodes to see if I can start appriciating its style. If it wasn't for that I would have never continued watching Rick and Morty (which I now love) or other amazing shows. I started watching this one because my boyfriend recommended it and compared it to Workaholics (another show I love). That got me excited for it and I really wanted to love it. Workaholics hooked me in almost immediately. I find a good amount of charm in that show's humour, but not at all in Broad City. This show just seems viol and not at all thought out. Yes there are funny moments and I did laugh a few times, but everything else just made me cringe. Maybe I'm just not one for a gross threesome fetish with a friend who is obviously not into it, bad timed vagina jokes, and talking like burnt out valley girls. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of a good amount of popular female comics. It seems to me like 8/10 female comedians force thier humour to be as gross and obnoxious as possible and that's not something I can get behind. Call me sexist, but that's my gender right there being just straight gross for the sake of being gross. It's disappointing to say the least. What I'm most disappointed about is that I cannot add this show to my snuggle time with the boyfriend line up. He may enjoy it, more power to him, but we avoid shows that one or the other doesn't like out of respect for the other's enjoyment (which means I don't watch Rick and Morty with him). Oh well though, we have plenty of shows we enjoy together. Bottom line, I just found this show to be too gross and cringy.

Well I finally gave this show a chance but it just lived up to my expectations.Trying way too hard to be funny, it's mostly toilet humor and "women can be gross and weird too!" just for the sake of it. There are some moments that are well written and gets a little laugh bit overall not worth your time. There are lots better and funnier shows out there.

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this show. From the outset it seems like a very traditional sitcom set-up; two women living in a big city, in their 20s, stuck in limbo struggling to 'do what adults do' (see '2 Broke Girls'). But this is so much more charming and funny than the usual sitcoms churned out by the dozen in America... perhaps because the web-series it was inspired by was an indie project from the outset, and relied on the chemistry of everybody involved. There's plenty of awkwardness, but the cringe-worthy situations are offset by the friendship-cum-platonic-marriage Ilana and Abbi have. Every episode is hilarious, and set to some pretty cool music, too. And they've had the series renewed for another couple of seasons! I only hope they can maintain the high standard set in the first couple. Definitely watch this if you like your comedy small-scale, indie and with a healthy dose of weird.

As the title says, I had VERY high hopes before I finally watched the first half of season 1. Trailers looked good, reviews were splendid. What a waste of time. I've heard so many comparisons with shows I still enjoy or did enjoy, but Broad City falls flat in any regard. The show tries to land on a middle ground between totally FUBAR and relatable in your every day live and it achieves none. Seinfeld was your regular piece where you could relate. It's Always Sunny and Workaholics were your piece of mind if you gave up on all boundaries.Broad City is neither and even in the most dull sense, it still didn't have a single funny moment. The whole show seems to get credit for two girls being stoned and get around. But guess what... that ain't funny. That's as regular, hilarious and inspired as your train being late again. After the first half of the first season, it really seems like Big Brother. Not absurd enough to blow your mind, and even if they try, those are ideas we have seen dozens of times on other shows. And if they don't reach out for that, the girls simple aren't interesting and catchy enough to even bother. The only good thing I can say about this show is what some might consider the worst insult. They look kinda neat. End of it. Not funny, not witty, nothing new, nothing shocking, nothing to keep you hanging on.It's actually NOT about women can't be funny. Fey, Poehler, Dreyfuss, they all were/are great. These two chicks just surf on a wave, but they are inferior to all those that came before, whether we talk format or actress.
