Good movie, but best of all time? Hardly . . .

Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

Bette Midler playing herself- I wasn't sure at first how this comedy would work out, but after the 1st episode I was hooked. Some people have claimed the scripts weren't all that great, but I have to strongly disagree. Bette's character of Bette is absolutely hysterical. Very few celebrities are able to poke fun at themselves for everyone to see. Some of the situations are "I love Lucy" style, and Bette pulls them off with class. And having celebrities like Dolly Parton coming in to join the show poking fun at themselves just adds to the fun. The chemistry between Bette and Joanna Gleason is fantastic. Great job of casting there, with Bette always hearing what she wants to hear, not what everyone is telling her, and Joanna trying to ease her into reality. I was disappointed when this show ended, and hope it will be released on DVD one day soon.

This series has at times reminded me of I Love Lucy... but with that dash of originality... otherwise known as Bette Midler...True, it's not one of those series to last for many years (The Simpsons, Law & Order, Murphy Brown) but it very well put together and written. Of course, it won't last, but at least we got to see something of the same arena as Lucille Ball's unforgettable character."Bette" may not leave behind a legacy and may not last that long... but it just proves that The Divine Miss M is not only the Queen of movies, music, comedy... but also, television.

This is my new favorite TV show, just because Bette Midler is in it, I watched the first epidode the second and now they are on about the 9th episode and I haven't missed one! I tape them all. If you want to watch a really good TV show, in my opinion the best one since I Love Lucy, watch Bette on CBS. This show has great plot lines, acting, and writing. If you haven't watched it yet watch it Wednesday at 8:00PM on CBS. BETTE MIDLER IS THE BEST ACTRESS EVER!

This show is absolutely hilarious! Not only is Miss Midler very good and hilarious, but so is her supporting cast (Kevin Dunn, James Dreyfus, Lindsay Lohan, Joanna Gleason)! The pilot aired tonight on CBS and I was laughing through the whole thing!"Bette" is about a superstar actress-singer (diva) named Bette (Bette Midler) who is married to Roy (Kevin Dunn), has a thirteen year old daughter Rose (Lindsay Lohan/Marina Malota), has a best friend/manager Connie (Joanna Gleason), and her accompanist Oscar (James Dreyfus). The show is about the ups-and-downs in Bette's career! The first episode, which guest starred Danny DeVito, was about Bette trying to put the spark back in her marriage. It all started when Roy fell asleep on her, so she decides to go to a plastic surgeon, then starts to exercise! The supporting cast thinks it's because Danny DeVito wants Bette to play his MOTHER in his TV series! LOL!!A very good show, A MUST-SEE!!
