This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

This is a series about alleged demonic hauntings at various locations around the USA. They are all more or less violent and frightening. If even a minuscule part of this is true then, there is much more to "life" than we commonly assume. Much more that is documented in ancient life that today we assume is superstition is actually "real".Due to the concept of this series this is a big IF. These are all uncorroborated stories of supposed hauntings, from those directly involved and possibly "paranormal investigators". There is no place for sceptics in these stories, no scientific investigation or any third party corroboration whatsoever. Some reviewers here has remarked that the content is strongly Christian. The "solutions" is always prayer and Christianity. Which in itself isn't too strange in a Christian setting/society as the USA. Having this going on for episode after episode is however, straining. They also portrait other beliefs as suspicious so this can easily be seen as Christian propaganda. As a amusing horror story series it has some merit. That it might give you some thoughts on the paranormal is a pro.

I enjoy watching TV shows about hauntings, and there is a huge range of quality out there. This show, in my opinion, ranks at the bottom of the list in terms of quality. The sound effects and scary music are WAY too cheesy for my tastes, and the special effects aren't very good. Plus, the ridiculous Christian content is truly hard to stomach. Every show seems to end with the owners of a haunted house turning to Jeebus to make everything better...so annoying. This show obviously has a Christian agenda, and it makes for really terrible television. There are many more paranormal TV shows out there that are much, much more entertaining, and without the nauseating Jeebus crap.

I was completely amazed how great this series is. I watch it every day and I never loose interest. It has disturbing scenes and a little blood but it's not enough to scare you. You could let your children watch it, because it's not as frightening and unbelievably sick as most horror movies/shows. It's family rated, but it has just enough scary in it to make you want to watch it more an more. The acting is pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the best but it's very con vincible and the special effects were really good. If your into horror that's not too scary you should really check it out. It's something that the whole family could watch and it'll seriously convince you.

I've always had an interest in this subject matter since I was a kid, I had a few incidents, I'll explain in a moment. The show is pretty intriguing. I like the way it's presented with the actors, real "victims" and narrator. Production value is top-notch for Discovery which actually when I think about it, is a pretty damn good network. The only problem I have is with the spastic editing before and after commercial breaks. Hell, even during the show the ghost flashing gets carried away. Not so much detracting from the story but getting annoying (like this review).OK, I like this show because I had a few experiences with a ghost in my Mom's cousins house in the mid-70's. I was only 7-8 yrs. old. One night, rocking chair rocking by itself. Sounds clichéd? Yes, I totally agree but it happened when I woke up in the middle of the night and my sister was asleep next to me. Secondly, my sister and I with my second-cousins watched as a few toys levitated and spun.I forgot most of this until I remembered the rocking chair incident years later and called my Ma's cousin. I recounted the story and she said in a very nonchalant way, "Oh, I forgot about him". Apparently he "tried" to spook the family and played many pranks. A levitating head at the foot of her bed whereas she scolded him saying, "shoo..shoo!". LOL. She is a down to earth Baptist from Battle Creek, Michigan. Many stories, email me if you want detail. But hey, great show!
