In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

Live from Atlantic City, NJ (Trump Plaza)Your commentators are Gorilla Monsoon & Jessie VenturaAttendance 19,199Battle RoyalThe Participants are The Hart Foundation, The Young Stallions, Sika, "Dangerous" Danny Davis, Killer Bees, Bad News Brown, Sam Houston, The Rougeau Brothers, Ken Patera, Ron Bass, Junkyard Dog, Bolsheviks, Hillbilly Jim, "King" Harley Race & George "The Animal" Steele. Bad News Brown wins after double countout. Bret Hart gets the last laugh by attacking Bad News and destroying the trophy. Painless Battle Royal. Nothing great...but nothing too bad. Memorable because it turned Bret Hart face. First RoundTed Dibiase Vs 'Hacksaw' Jim DugganDibiase advances after Andre helps Dibiase. This wasn't nearly as bad as I remembered. Duggan actually put on a watchable performance here. Credit where its due. Didn't hurt that he had Dibiase in the ring with him.*3/4 out of 5First RoundDino Bravo Vs 'The Rock' Don MuracoMuraco wins by DQ. Pretty mediocre match as to be expected. Silly finish too. *1/2 out of 5First RoundRicky 'The Dragon' Steamboat Vs Greg 'The Hammer' ValentineValentine wins by reversing a cross-body. Hell of a match between these two, considering they only had 15 minutes. Valentine is a reliable workhorse and Steamboat is a god. One of those underrated matches that doesn't get enough credit. Steamboat and Savage would have been amazing in the second round...even if both were babyfaces. This was Steamboat's swan song in the WWF or at least close to it. He'd leave for NWA/WCW ***1/4 out of 5First Round'Macho Man' Randy Savage Vs Butch ReedSavage wins with the flying elbow drop. Not even Savage could save this one. Pretty dull all around.*1/4 out of 5First RoundBam Bam Bigelow Vs One Man GangBam Bam was a babyface in his 87/88 run. OMG wins by countout after Slick pulls the top rope down to send BBB over the top rope. What a lame finish to a crappy ass match. Bigelow was a great worker, but not much he could do with OMG. 3/4* out of 5Hulk Hogan cuts one of his most memorable promos of all time about how the faultline is gonna break and everybody is gonna fall into the ocean. He claims he'll back pedal Donald Trump and all the Hulkamaniacs on his back all the way to safety.First Round"Ravishing" Rick Rude Vs Jake "The Snake" RobertsThe match ends in a draw when the time limit expires. REALLY dull match. This was very boring to watch with a lost of rest holds. You know it's bad when the crowd starts a "Boring" chant. I'm a big fan of both guys, but this just didn't cut the mustard. I understand the finish, tho. Neither guy could afford a loss at this juncture.*1/2 out of 5The Ultimate Warrior Vs HerculesWarrior wins after getting his shoulder up during a back suplex bridge pin. Ironically, Hercules would win at the next Wrestlemania with that same move. Match is pretty terrible. Notable for being the Warrior's first ever Mania.* out of 5Second RoundHulk Hogan Vs Andre The GiantBoth men are disqualified for using a chair, so both are eliminated from the tournament. Hogan slams Andre to make the crowd happy. Not a great match by any means, but it did have a big time feel to it. Not on par with the storytelling magic of Wrestlemania 3.*1/2 out of 5Second RoundTed Dibiase Vs Don MuracoDibiase advances to the finals and wins after using a stun gun on the ropes. Not bad at all. Watchable for sure. ** out of 5Second Round'Macho Man' Randy Savage Vs 'Greg The Hammer' ValentineSavage wins with a small package. Solid stuff, but not quite on the level of Steamboat and Valentine.**1/2 out of 5Intercontinental TitleThe Honky Tonk Man (C) Vs Brutus "The Barber" BeefcakeHonky wins cheaply after Jimmy Hart nails the referee with the megaphone. Beefcake gets the last laugh by cutting Jimmy's hair. For some reason, I had some enjoyment while watching this. Maybe, it's because I like Beefcake. ** out of 5The Islanders & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan Vs The British Bulldogs & Koko B. WareThe Islanders and Heenan win after Heenan gets the pin. Matilda roughs up Heenan after the match. An above average match. Heenan's presence and hilarious outfit gave it that little extra oomph it needed. **1/4 out of 5Semi-Finals'Macho Man' Randy Savage Vs The One Man GangSavage wins by DQ after the OMG tries to use a cane like an idiot. Savage single-handedly made this watchable. THAT is talent. I guess this is the only way they could have Savage go over.*3/4 out of 5Tag Team TitlesStrike Force (C) Vs DemolitionThe crowd is completely dead and have been for most of the night. Even Hogan and Savage's pops were tame. Demolition wins, thanks to chicanery from the cane. Pretty boring match with a really dull atmosphere. *1/2 out of 5WWF Championship'Macho Man' Randy Savage Vs Ted DibiaseElizabeth gets Hulk Hogan to come out and help. Savage wins the WWF Title, thanks to Hogan. No matter how many times I watch this, it never gets old. I'm such a mark for Savage. The match was pretty decent, but it's the storytelling that is memorable. This was Mach's finest hour. One of the finest moments in history. **1/4 out of 5I'm gonna give this a 6 just because of Savage's triumph. The PPV as a whole is rather tedious and the crowd was awful, aside from the main event. It's definitely worth a look once, but I'm not sure it holds up with multiple viewings.6/10

this fourth installment of wrestlemania was one of my favorites. it is certainly better than any of the recent ones. of course i am not a big fan of wrestling these days. too many stupid story lines and it just seems to be way too outrageous. back in these days you just had your interviews and then it was straight to the ring. the matches might not have been as fast paced, but at least most of the time it ended with a real winner. i stopped watching raw years ago when the main event always ended in outside interference. it just got old watching the same show every single week. anyway #4 had some good matches, especially if your macho man fan. he is my favorite of all time. macho/valentine was a good match. so was macho/ dibiase. the battle royal was pretty good and marked bret hart's turn from bad guy to good guy. it was also the first time of three that demolition got their hands on the tag titles.(why ,oh why, did they ever have to bring in crush)? i always thought ax and smash were pretty cool. anyway if your interested in watching wrestling when it was good this is worth a look. if your more interested in the garbage thats on t.v. today then you will probably find it boring. by the way miss elizabeth dressed like a real woman should dress and she was 10x hotter than any of the sluts on today.

Wrestlemania IV (1988) marked the start of the end of Hulkamania's run as one of the biggest draws in pro wrestling. At this point wrestling was so huge that Donald Trump himself wanted a piece of the action. He had the next two Wrestlemanias (IV and V) held in the Trump Plaza. The Donald even had ringside seats for this four hour event. The storyline went like this Hulk Hogan lost to Andre the Giant in a very controversial match on N.B.C. 's Saturday Night's Main Event wrestling program. Immediately after the match Andre and his manager Bobby "the Brain" Heenan gave the belt to Ted "Million Dollar Man" Di Biase and he gave the Brain a suitcase full of money. Both parties were satisfied except the Hulkster who "cried" during a promo he gave after the match. The stage was set for Wrestlemania IV, W.W.F. "president" Jack Tunney organized a tournament set up involving all of the top singles competitors in the W.W.F. This was supposed to be the greatest wrestling spectacle of all time. Except the matches stunk and the event was four hours long!! The only matches of note was the battle royale (Bad News Brown was the man!) and the old school N.W.A. style match between Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and the Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (those two put on one good match), They should have called this one Wrestlemania "Snore".But it's worth getting just to hear the most delusional promo ever recorded from the Hulkster!!B-
