Wrestling with the North Trailers

Every year for the past 26 years, a courageous team of semi-professional wrestlers goes on what has been called the toughest wrestling tour on Earth. Rookies with stars in their eyes join tough-as-nails veterans like Chi-Chi Cruz, Leatherface, Eric the Lumberjack, and Crash Crimson to pack into a van and head for the far northern reaches of Manitoba. Only accessible in winter by frozen lake roads, these remote First Nations communities get a rare show of live wrestling entertainment, complete with stunners and body slams. Wrestling with the North captures all the pain, glory and determination of these die-hard wrestlers and through the wrestlers' eyes we glimpse northern aboriginal communities holding fast to their traditions while embracing a pop-culture circus with zeal.

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

I'd never heard of this tour before watching this programme so it was a great little watch and certainly insightful. It follows a small group of pro-wrestlers, ranging in experience, eager to pay their dues and go to extreme lengths to entertain small regions cutoff from society by the icy and snowy regions of northern Canada. The tour happens every year and in the past, stars such as Edge, Christian, Lance Storm, Chris Jericho and Test have all been there. It's great to see that passion for pro-wrestling that can't be put into words glowing from a mixture of different people, that only others with it will understand.I hope everyone within the documentary is doing good and wish them all the best and totally recommend this documentary for any wrestling fan, or anyone for that matter. The sacrifices people make within wrestling are 100% real.
