That was an excellent one.
... View MoreGood concept, poorly executed.
... View MoreThe plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

... View MoreI really don't know what to think about Wild Zero. Some parts were funny, other were weird and some were a bit stupid. What didn't work for me was the use of cheap CGI and some blue keys. The CGi looked cheap and the way they killed the zombies was always the same, shooting the head of the body. Once you have seen that you have seen the killings. The way the zombies looked were also laughable. But overall it looked more like a comedy then a horror. The effect of the UFO's had a fifties look as did the rock band. And towards the end the use of laser effects and special lights also looked cheap, in fact, the whole film had a independent eighties look. Not gory at all but still watchable even as it has a few weirs situations.Gore 1/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 2/5 Story 3/5 Comedy 1/5
... View MoreA Japanese movie about a Japanese rock band, against a bunch of aliens and zombies. How could this movie not be awesome? Well, by hardly featuring any zombies and aliens, unfortunately. It's a Japanese movie alright, which means that it's being filled with a bunch of weirdness. Weird looking- and behaving characters, odd situations, an unusual visual style. No, don't think you could call this movie just for everybody but even those that are more familiar with- and like the Japanese style of film-making, will most likely end up feeling slightly disappointed by this movie. It's a movie that for some odd reason decides to focus way more on its characters, rather than on some good or fun zombie/alien action. The movie really has a whole bunch of characters in it and it follows multiple ones of them, throughout the entire movie. After a while I had no idea who all of them were any more and whose side they were on or what they wanted exactly. Needless to see this isn't exactly the most compelling movie to watch and it's perhaps also lacking a good and likable main hero in it.The movie just never lives up to its potential, until its final 10 minutes, or so, come along. Now why couldn't the rest of the movie had been more like that as well? It is then that the gloves are off and the movie decides to go all out with its action, gore and effects. Not that the effects or its gore are that great though. As a matter of fact, it looks like it comes straight out of an amateur movie, done by a couple of teenagers in their basement, on their home computer. But perhaps you also need to take into consideration that this is an 2000 movie. Special effects back then were of course not as advanced and easy to use as it is now days. It's a somewhat of an amusing movie but still really too flawed and filled with too much wasted potential to call this a good movie. It just never fully succeeds in what it is trying to achieve.5/10 http://bobafett1138.blogspot.com/
... View MoreThe action revolves around the Japanese garage punk band Guitar Wolf. A trio of coiffed, leather-bound super cool rockers. Ace, our main character is a wannabe rocker and number one fan of Guitar Wolf. One fateful night he finds himself in the middle of a gunfight between Guitar Wolf and an evil hot pant wearing wigged club owner. Guitar Wolf recognizes the lad as having a heart dedicated to the true spirit of rock and roll and makes him a blood brother and furnishes him with a "wolf whistle" to blow if he is ever in trouble. Trouble comes quickly in the form of UFO's and the living dead. Along the way we meet an adorable transsexual desperate for love and a bad ass female weapons dealer. Featuring guitar picks used like ninja throwing stars, a naked woman blasting zombies in the shower, slicing a UFO in half with a Samurai sword, more exploding zombie heads then you can shake a stick at, and of course, plenty of rock and roll, guitar punk sensibility. To enjoy "Wild Zero" you really have to throw out any misconceptions you might have that a film that suffers from bad editing, bad continuity, and a lack of coherent story could possibly be anything but awful. Wild Zero proves that a film can suffer these slings and arrows and still shine brilliantly. It's all about the Rock and Roll! The music in this film kicks some serious ass! It's just a whole bunch of awesomeness. For some additional fun the DVD includes a drinking game you can play while watching the film. A drinking symbol appears sporadically throughout the film like each time a character drinks, says Rock 'n Roll, or a head explodes. I can only imagine that the addition of alcohol would enhance the experience.
... View MoreCan't help echoing a bunch of the other comments here; this is one of the most --maybe even THE most--fun, high-energy, and surprisingly touching and endearing movies in the rock-horror genre EVER. I would never have expected to use the words "touching and endearing" in reviewing a movie that contains so much gore and detonated skulls, but so help me Dead Elvis, this baby has its head and heart squarely in the right place. It sincerely BELIEVES in the life-saving power of true love, loyal friendship and rock'n'roll, and it puts itself on the line to prove it. Enough people here have run down the basic plot, so I won't: but, holy smoke you guys! Laser-beam-firing anti-zombie guitar picks! Flame-shooting microphones! Flame-shooting motorcycles! A magic whistle that calls The Coolest Garage Rock Band on Earth, Guitar Wolf (OWOOOO!) to your aid when all seems lost! Hordes of lurching blue zombies muttering "zuuunoo..." (yeah, that's Japanese for "braaiiin...")! and, geez, that transcendent moment when G. Wolf yanks a katana out of the neck of his guitar like that avenging sister in "Zatoichi" and **slices a spaceship in half**!! What more could you possibly want?! How about a wonderful little cross-gender romance? Got that, too!--and the moment when G. Wolf (who BTW I think does an excellent job of playing himself, as do his bandmates B. Wolf and D. Wolf) strikes a heroic stance and counsels our hero, Ace, to believe in love and not in boundaries made me cheer out loud. I guess people who like their zombie movies grim and ugly won't care for it (their loss); but anyone who loved "Six-String Samurai" or "Samurai Fiction" or the BRILLIANT anime "Samurai Champloo" ought to love this (it's got some zombies too); anyone who loves "Rock'n'Roll High School" ought to love this; aw heck, anyone who believes in the power of rock'n'roll ought to love this. Do not miss it. You will automatically become cooler just by spending time with this little gem.
