... View MoreThis is the finest documentary I have ever seen. It is accurate and poignant. If you want an insight into the real South Africa of the nineties, watch this. This is the story of four men (actually really only three in any detail) who face terrible danger to photograph the death and mayhem of South Africa's birth as a democracy. The utter disregard for life is documented by these newspaper photographers but the toll is terrible. This is the story of their lives and the context in which they lived. I'm not sure if I could watch it again but I am very glad to have seen it. It described the hidden side of the black-on-black violence and the cost. The stress of living this kind of life and the graphic photographs will be hard to view in places but it is worth it.
