terrible... so disappointed.

... View MoreI loved this movie, I tried using Tinder, an online SWIPE dating app, and it has really worked in my favor. This movie is definitely based upon what will happen when you get a Tinder account, because you never know what you'll get. You'll get a bunch of gross pictures, you'll get a bunch of anxiety from a person who doesn't reply, and you'll get happy when they ask you on dates. This movie displays all of that in a funny matter. Looking for love in all the wrong places may just work out sometimes. I honestly didn't expect this film to be so funny, and all the guest stars were just the cherry on top of everything. What Now was a cute, and funny film and I hope to see more work in the future from Ash Avildsen! Bravo!!!!!
... View MoreI personally found this movie hilarious being a pro wrestling fan who uses tinder. There is a ton of jokes in there that only pro wrestling fans would appreciate. Obviously, this isn't a "Hangover" or Swingers like someone else mentioned, but it is a fun comedy that you won't get bored with. The acting was not great but good enough. Some of the visuals weren't fantastic, and who ever was the guy who's job was to pull focus didn't do the best job. I think early in a guys career, Ash did a pretty solid job with this movie and I would definitely watch it again and recommend it to a friend. Like it said, this movie is definitely a movie that has a select audience and I respect Ash's attempt to make a movie that HE wanted to make and you can definitely tell that this film was from the mind of someone who got to make a movie his way and not overly influenced by a studio.
... View MoreWasn't sure if I'd like this movie as much as I did! But I was pleasantly surprised when by the end of the film, I was invested in the characters and relating to their experiences and emotional journey. I found myself caring about what happened, and rooting for the "little guys." The guest appearances and pop culture references were the sprinkles on top of this "tinder dating" cupcake. Definitely caused me to laugh out loud throughout the movie, quite an accomplishment these days!I definitely suggest this movie to anyone looking for good times with good laughs.
... View MoreI guess making it big in Hollywood is a pretty daunting prospect for any young filmmaker, scriptwriter or actor and there will always be the temptation to try and reproduce the success of the legendary 1996 SWINGERS in which a group of unknown (until then) friends and struggling actors, fed up with the lack of opportunities joined forces to create on a shoestring one of the funniest movies of all time. Jon Favreau wrote, produced and starred in a film that made household names of Vince Vaughn, Ron Livingston and himself among others and i'm afraid that though a valiant effort, Ash Avildsen's WHAT NOW comes up short on almost every level. Technically the film is OK, direction, cinematography, editing etc are all competent. the problem lies mainly on the acting and the story which follows the tribulations of a group of unsuccessful thirty somethings on their quest for love using untraditional, modern methods and though this is an interesting premise, it is delivered without panache or an ounce of charisma by a group of actors that are in the majority of cases totally miscast. Jo Cassiere is supposed to be the all out comic relief of the movie yet he comes across more like a demented weirdo. Lorenzo Antonucci's role is totally clichéd and Bizzy bone AKA B-Murda never for a second made me believe that he was a former successful rapper though supposedly he is in real life which makes it even worse as he shouldn't even have to try. As for Ash Avildsen, his lack of screen presence is worrying for someone who aspires to be an actor not to mention his flair for comedy as a director which is utterly inexistent. The over the top acting and the clear attempt at giving us very witty and clever dialogues doesn't help and turns a group of guys that should have been likable into a bunch of burnt out, cynical and pretty mean at times thirty somethings for whom nobody is rooting. Avildsen tries to create a clever comedy with some light touches of drama but fails miserably on both accounts giving us characters completely devoid of any charisma for which is almost impossible to feel any empathy. All in all definitely NOT the new SWINGERS.
