A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
... View MoreThe acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
... View MoreWhile it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
... View MoreAfter playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.
... View MoreWest Of Pinto Basin is where the Rangebusters, Dusty King, Ray Corrigan, and Max Terhune with the ever eloquent Elmer are answering a summons from a marshal friend of their's whom they find waylaid and shot to death on the road to town. Naturally the Rangebusters take over and see that justice is done. What the marshal was looking into was a series of stagecoach robberies where it is obvious that the bad guys are getting inside information. As this is a B western it isn't like we have a host of suspects. It's obvious who the rat is from the beginning. That however does not detract from the film which is a nice mixture of humor, action, and a song or two. Best part of the film is when Max Terhune goes out of his league with gambler Tris Coffin and winds up losing all the Rangebuster's horses. That soon gets put to rights with Corrigan sitting in on a new game.B western film fans should like this one.
