It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

I expected the movie to be a lot better than it actually was. It started off kinda strange, jumped straight into the action from the mere beginning but after that it started slowing down. Some effects didn't look that great and they were a little bit different than what we see in the HP movies. Acting in some places was poor and has a lot of room for improvement. The so called movie got boring after some time and started checking my phone from time to time. I wanted to see this movie, since I thought that it will tell a lot more about Voldemort and his past, but this movie actually disappointed me.

I do not like fan movies. In fact, movies with poor stories/acting/filming do annoy me.But i am a fan, and i love Star Trek, Lord of the Rings and, more on the books side, Harry Potter (not only, mind you).Concerning fan made movies, i would like to relate a personal experience. If you propose yourself to watch a non professionally made production, the main thing you would have to do is to put yourself in an emotionally compatible state. You are going to see what amateurs writers, amateurs actors, amateurs cinematographers produced. Put yourself in their shoes and imagine how much fun they had scripting/portraing/filming their beloved characters. I find meself thinking "i want a little more" in this cases.I managed to do so. And, in doing it, enjoyed meself immensely watching some of the most entertaining productions fandom have produced. I find it fair to mention them here (supposing someone will eventually read this). The hunt for GollumThey have a site. As a great fan of the books, i know the impossibility of making a film that will satisfy me. That said, i loved the Bakshi animation and had to accept, despite my many observations, the Jackson film. This fan production is far beyond anything i would expect from amateurs, and, of course, reading more about the people that made it, they are, in fact, fans - and professionals.Born of HopeBeautiful story and acting, directed by a woman and that carries this special feminine sensibility. (Look for the site)Star TrekAfter the unfortunate recent foray to restart a new ST series, if you are a fan, do not despair! Try (in the mindset i sugested) Aurora, an animated story that i loved, and the exceptional Star Trek Continues. So, in watching the HP fan made movie, i have only one thing to say: "grazie mille, i miei amici italiani per aver reso il mio pomeriggio molto più divertente di quanto sarebbe stato senza il tuo brillante lavoro!" (sorry, google translation...)I really wonder if anyone read this things.Best regards!

Everyone here needs to get over themselves, Lets see you do a better job... well... go on... thats what i thought, hide behind your keyboards cowards instead of putting you money where your mouth is. End rantthat all said, and from the blindness and dim wittedness of the majority of tasteless critics on this site aside, I must point out that it would have been nice to have some foreground into our main character and how she managed to trace the diary to soviet Russia. Other than that I was intelligent enough to piece together the plot, and to follow it. It doesn't take a monkey to follow and frankly if you cant keep up, find another movie to watch. The effects were fantastic for a film budget of 15k and though the acting lacked some of the finesse of the original harry potter films no one wants to replace the original cast and no one is trying to. as far as i am concerned these actors are doing the best they can considering they havent been acting in this movie for 7 films,i would point out as well that should there be further voldemort movies, many of these, very minor technical and script/plot errors would probably disappear over time and as the actors grew into their characters they would do a marvelous job representing their respective characters. bravo to both cast and crew and hopefully WB will allow licencing for sequels. my dime.

I'm not a hardcore Harry Potter fan, I only watched the movies. With that said the storyline of Voldemort: Origins of the Heir was very confusing to me. This movie does an awful job of explaining why Voldemort has become the way he was. The film bombards you with names and tiny pieces of story which made it really hard to follow. The acting was besides terrible. And why did they choose to do a voiceover instead of recording live? Voices and and acting felt completely out of sync for all characters. The lack of background noise made it even worse. It's like watching a bad dub.Was quite disappointed after all he fuss this movie has generated.
