The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

The multistarrer with Arya and Madhavan playing the lead has the typical makings of a Lingusamy film. The casting of Madhavan and Arya was good, but their acting skills have not been put to much use. Although the film starts on an interesting note it soon takes a very predictable story-line. The director has also included an equal number of songs for both the lead pairs :Arya- Amala and Madhavan-Sameera in order to give them equal weight- age. As the film moves on the action sequences become a bit boring but the good editing and camera work captures our interest back. Released on a festive season the film gives the people that mood and surely wouldn't be that bad an outing for anyone.

A another Masala movie. The film beginning was good;but the middle half of the film is too awful. Ordinary acting by the veteran Actors Arya and Madhavan, but the story and the dialogues seems much ordinary. There is no any support by the main two actress to the leading role, and at the same time Director was unable to suck the best from the Actors. Arya and Madhavan collaboration is a high and a very worth full one. But they doesn't suite for a script like this. Film released with lots of expectations but again, Linguswamy proved that he is good for just Masala kind movies. The music seems very awful and at the mean time Yuvan Shankar Raja proving again and again that he got couple of jingles to credit a film. At all a very ordinary movie for the Masala film lovers, but with a big collaboration.

I got to watch this movie in the fdfs. Went with no expectations whatsoever. But i was not disappointed. What i thought would be a regular mindless masala movie, turned out to be pretty good in the end.The movie starts with the introduction of both the heroes and heroines with a song for each. unusually we can see Arya, the younger one, standing up and saving the elder one Madhavan. Madhavan gets his dad's police job and takes it up with too much hesitation after Arya's encouragement. As the movie starts, Madhavan literally shivers in his police uniform in the harbor city of Thutukudi which is filled with gangs of rowdys. When Madhavan is given a duty, the fighting part was done by Arya and the pride and the villain's wrath goes to Madhavan. In between these stuff the heroes meet and fall in love with the heroines. When the villains come to know about this double game played by the brothers, they bash up Madhavan. Madhavan, after a series of operations and encouragement from Arya, rejoins the police force with a rejuvenated energy. What happens here after forms the rest of the story. If first half shows Madhavan's cowardice and second half his developed bravery, Arya's fearlessness stands out. Sameera and Amala Paul have done their "heroine" duties nicely and they are good to look on screen. Ashutosh Rana has given a neat performance in his first Tamil movie. Music is above average. On the whole, its an awesome entertainer and can be thoroughly enjoyed by one and all. :)
